Red Dead Redemption on Switch 2 delivers a masterful conversion, achieving stable 60 FPS and stunning native HDR that elevates the iconic American frontier. This version largely rectifies the original Switch's flaws, nearly matching the PC experience, although minor popping artifacts and a somewhat rigid mission design persist. Overall, a triumphant return.

This was my first time playing Red Dead Redemption. I have no warm, nostalgic fuzzies of playing the game back when my knees didn’t hurt quite so much. This game had to survive with me by modern standards, and I’m happy to say it did just that. Does the world need one more person telling you to play Red Dead Redemption? Maybe not, but if you need a nudge to give this game a go on the Nintendo Switch 2, consider this to be just that. This is an excellent Switch 2 upgrade, remarkably at zero cost for owners of the existing Switch version, and it’s an outstanding way to play this game on the go.

Red Dead Redemption: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition does a marvelous job at updating the original game to a modern-day experience, repurposed for the Nintendo Switch 2 with improved visual quality, a more fluid experience, and all extra content and DLCs in one package which help make this the ultimate Red Dead experience on a Nintendo console. As for everything else, its plot and characters remain outstanding, the game's open world is one of the very best, and there's so much to do that the experience never grows stale, whether on long sessions or on quick and simple takes.

Red Dead Redemption - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition makes look the console like a really decent machine, because it competes very close with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions, so if you are an only Nintendo user, you get the best way to play this masterpiece. Excellent frame rate, gorgeous visuals and an epic adventure.

Yes, there's still no multiplayer, but it now feels as though the game is being presented on a Nintendo console in a manner befitting such an epic slice of gaming history. With slick controls, DLSS, HDR, volumetric effects, options to personalise mouse mode, 60fps that felt flawless, and a resolution bump that's got it looking super sharp, this is a gem that still feels modern, immediate, and relentlessly replayable on Switch 2. Now that's rootin' tootin', partners!

Red Dead Redemption on Nintendo Switch 2 revives Rockstar's classic western with an exemplary technical upgrade: stable 60 FPS, HDR, DLSS, and an innovative Joy-Con mouse mode that improves aiming. Its open world, memorable narrative, and the inclusion of Undead Nightmare make the experience feel modern, fluid, and excellent in both docked and handheld play. It stands as the best way to play this masterpiece within the Nintendo ecosystem.

Red Dead Redemption remains a landmark title. The Switch 2 port improves presentation and performance without changing the game’s core design, letting the world, story, and gameplay shine like they were always meant to. Minor signs of aging exist, but they don’t take away from the experience. This version stands as a definitive way to experience a classic, delivering everything that made the original great while running smoother and looking sharper than ever.

This may be the definitive and most complete version of the story of the beloved John Marston. An award-winning 2010 Game of the Year returns with graphical improvements, portable play options, and a new mouse mode on the Nintendo Switch 2. It delivers strong technical stability, very satisfying resolution, and excellent load times. And while it still retains some of the original’s infamous bugs and NPC issues, it remains a highly enticing package that’s well worth revisiting.
