I'm blown away by how well Kena: Bridge of Spirits - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition holds up, especially considering it released almost 5 years ago and I had just as much fun playing through it now than I did back then. Slight visual downgrade aside, this is a near-perfect port.

Certainly a stunner visually, and refreshingly unique in its overall style of play, the only concern is whether the game clearly chose the audience it wanted to appeal to.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits for Switch 2 is another great port for the console, bringing back a charming and deeply enjoyable game that fits perfectly with the Nintendo spirit. The only downside is the inability to play at 60 fps.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a natural fit for the Nintendo Switch 2 in both presentation and gameplay. It could (and should) have done a bit more to introduce newcomers to the elements of this world, but it offers a charming, occasionally dark adventure that will fully engage players once they settle in.

If you have a Switch 2 and have been looking for a great-looking action-adventure game to keep you occupied until the next mainline Legend of Zelda game, then Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a must-buy. After playing it for myself, I’m now even more excited for the upcoming sequel, Kena: Scars of Kosmora.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits on Switch 2 positions itself halfway between the PS4 edition and the PS5, PC, and Xbox versions, once again proving to be one of the most successful “AA” titles of recent years. Refined in many of its elements, Kena: Bridge of Spirits arrives on Nintendo’s hybrid console complete with DLC and performs well both on TV and in handheld mode, taking full advantage of the system’s new hardware. Atmosphere, art direction, and well-crafted (though not perfect) gameplay remain the strong points of a title that deserves to be played—or replayed—while waiting for Kena: Scars of Kosmora, the next chapter in the saga. For those who have always owned Nintendo consoles, this is a great opportunity to experience a solid action game with a narrative tone reminiscent of Pixar, which, even in this new version, can offer plenty of satisfaction.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits on Switch 2 is, at its core, a clever adaptation. It doesn’t match the technical quality of other platforms, but it manages to preserve what matters most: its magic. If you’ve already played the original on PS5 or PC, this version isn’t a must-have. But if you didn’t play it back then and you’re someone who enjoys playing on a handheld, here’s a fantastic opportunity.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits feels right at home on Nintendo Switch 2 and still offers an adventure that’s well worth experiencing. While there are some minor technical hiccups and a noticeable visual downgrade compared to PlayStation 5, none of it takes away from the charm, atmosphere, and satisfying gameplay.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is an action-adventure game whose cute graphics might lull you into a false sense of security. The game brings Souls-lite combat, platforming, and puzzles that will put your gaming skills to the test. On Switch 2, the game looks great and runs smoothly (for the most part). Despite being only a few years old, it feels like old-school Legend of Zelda with modern graphics, and that makes it a perfect addition to the Switch 2 lineup of action games.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits had long been on my radar as I held out hope for a future Switch port. It took the power of the Switch 2 to make that a reality, but there's no doubt that the fidelity of the visual experience was worth the wait. Bridge of Spirits isn't overly unique in its gameplay, but it compensates for that with a charming story and beautiful environments. Even in handheld mode, the game holds up well and the charm remains intact.

The Switch 2 gains yet another great title for its library with Kena: Bridge of Spirits. Ember Labs hit remains one of the most likeable 3D action-adventure games of the last few years, and its approachable gameplay and stunning visual design feel utterly at home on a Nintendo console.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits feels right at home on a Nintendo console, and its size and scope make it a pretty decent travel companion—well-suited to easy pick-up-and-play. If you missed it the first time around and are willing to accept a small degree of graphical sacrifice, then this game is definitely worth your time.

Kena: Bridge Of Spirits is a great addition to the Switch 2 roster. A visually stunning platforming adventure with great storytelling and an adorable companion mechanic. Combat and enemy design leave a lot to be desired, but this doesn't do much to dent the experience of Kena’s journey.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 with a stable port that remains visually faithful to the original. It may not be the deepest game in the catalog, but its spectacular art direction and emotional story more than make up for its lack of gameplay complexity.

Great graphic style and fairy tale charm in a game with a too simple structure and repetitive terrain.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits lands on Switch 2 in good condition, but the feeling can't be shaken that it could be much better. Whilst the heart, story and the fantastical wonder remains, technically we've seen far better on the hybrid system, and this port does a disservice to a game that should be treated with more care.

This story-led adventure game more than earns its credit for its beautiful art style and exquisite soundtrack. The plot is the main driver and it's a marvel to find out more about the game's tragic but heartwarming background story. Its combat is less impressive, though, and it feels repetitive soon enough, especially as we expand Kena's capacities, and at some specific points there seems to be a performance issue with regards to the graphics. Nonetheless, the game's narrative dimension, its audiovisual world and the exploration and search for collectibles more than help Kena: Bridge of Spirits merit its place on the Nintendo Switch 2 catalogue.

Ember Lab's visually enchanting debut showcases its animation expertise that translates well to Switch 2, even if its Pixar comparisons are superficial at best, wrapped in a competent but safe 3D action-adventure title.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits delivers an interesting blend of fast-paced combat, gorgeous visuals, and light puzzle-solving. It is just a shame that I can’t recommend the Nintendo Switch 2 port without the caveats about visual issues like ghosting, some noticeable visual cutbacks, and lack of a performance mode. I’ll definitely revisit it after some patches, but if nothing major changes, this is looking like a game I should revisit on another platform in the future for New Game Plus.

If, like me, you found yourself interested in how things might evolve with the sequel I can give my endorsement for Kena: Bridge of Spirits on Switch 2. All in all, it's a solid port for a solid game.

Kena: Bridge of Spirits is a fun game that mixes platforming and mechanics reminiscent of the Soulslike genre, in terms of combat and attacks. However, the gameplay loop relies too heavily on repetition and ends up being tedious, as does the Switch 2 port, which leaves much to be desired in several aspects.
