Mar 23, 2026Assassin's Creed Shadows is a solid entry for Nintendo fans who have always wanted to play in this world. The game does a good job of making each character's play style feel distinct, while also keeping the experience fun in the process. The missions can start to feel very similar after a while, but the amount of content means that there's plenty to do before you'll see the end credits roll. The presentation remains impressive overall, and unless you're completely burned out on open-world adventure games, Shadows is a good one to get stuck on.

Jan 23, 2026Assassin's Creed Shadows on the Nintendo Switch 2 is a technical marvel that showcases the potential of the new hardware. While visual trade-offs are evident – such as the removal of Ray Tracing and lower foliage density – the use of DLSS and VRR ensures a solid and engaging handheld experience. The dual-protagonist system (Naoe and Yasuke) brings much-needed variety to the gameplay. However, the docked mode still suffers from inconsistent frame-pacing and needs further patching. Overall, it is a must-play for fans of the genre who prioritize portability without sacrificing the core content of a massive current-gen RPG.

Jan 11, 2026Assassin’s Creed Shadows feels surprisingly at home on Nintendo Switch 2. Despite some understandable cuts to the visual quality it remains an immersive, satisfying, and well-rendered gaming experience. Unfortunately, small issues with the frame rate and input lag can frustrate throughout the game, but following a very successful first patch, the road to optimization is clear.
