Even after twenty years of amazing new releases in this industry, Ocarina is still my favorite game and my favorite work of entertainment/art altogether.

This is by far my favorite game ever, I have grown up with this game my whole life. This game was and is such a large part of my life and as much as I would love to say this game is perfect, there are three things i wish I could change in this game. First I wish there were more side missions. Yes there are quite a few already in the game, but I feel like if they would have added more it could have made this game feel even more realistic and adventurous. Maybe if they would have added that expansion they intended to add with the N64 it would have fixed this issue. Second I think I can speak for everyone when I say having the option to skip through discussions with Kaepora Gaebora would make this game less aggravating. I know some people may argue saying that even though it's annoying this is one of the things in the game that help you experience these different emotions, which is one of the reasons why this game so great. All I have to say is they could have at least made his discussions shorter and sty on topic. Last but not least the fact that the game ends once you defeat Gannon Dorf is so disappointing to me. Now before you jump out lashing at me, let me say I do have mixed feelings about it. The ending to me is the most satisfying and least satisfying part of the game. You spend countless hours going around trying to find all of the little hidden secrets the game holds, getting to know all of the people who live in the game and when it comes time for you to defeat the evil within it, it justs ends. Maybe this is what makes this game so desirable, because it makes you want to take your time adventuring and once you defeat the game you get to start all over so you can try an find things you may have missed the time before. However, I would like to know what happens after you win. Does link and Zelda get together? How is the world now that Gannon Dorf is gone? Has a different evil come to threaten the peace? This game leaves you with so many questions and sadly not to may answers.

I would love to see nintendo come out with a remastered version in HD for the switch. I first thought that a remastered version would possibly ruin the game but seeing the HD Unreal Engine 4 screenplays online has totally changed my mind. I currently don't own a switch but if they do decide to release a remastered version of this game I will totally go out and buy one.

This IS the videogame. The innovation in 3D with Z Targeting, the music and the plot are already in the saga and most of others videogames. This industry is what it is because of this videogame.

Legendary game that will never be forgotten, true masterpiece on the N64, only those who lived it at the time will know what it was to come from the 2D A Link to the Past on the SNES and dive into this 3D perfection, Music, Graphics, Narrative, Puzzles, Action, the birth of Z-Target, best game of all time from every point you take to analyze...

Ocarina of Time is quite possibly the greatest game ever made. The gameplay, particularly revolutionary for its time, still holds up today. The gameplay, particularly revolutionary for its time, still holds up today. The story tells the grand adventure, that although told many a time through various media, continues to be used to this day. The matter of fact is: Ocarina set forth many of the trends that are still present in video games today. It is a masterpiece that most certainly lives up to the hype.

Ocarina of Time is considered by many to be the greatest video game ever made. I first played this title over 15 years after it came out. It was not my first Zelda game, nor did I grow up playing this game. Thus, I had zero nostalgia for this game and nothing but high expectations from repeatedly being told that this was the peak gaming experience of all time.

The story, feels familiar and follows the basic Zelda formula (hero learns of danger to the world, does some dungeons, something drastic changes in the world, Zelda is a captured by Gannon, hero frees her, etc.) however at this point said formula was still new. There is just enough story to keep the player invested in the world and its characters, but so much that it becomes the focus of this game. Instead the game chooses to be about adventure and exploration, a goal it accomplishes masterfully in a variety of ways.

First, the game’s level design is fantastic. Each dungeon has a unique theme and even those with similar themes (i.e. The Great Deku Tree and Forest Temple) have vastly different mechanics that makes each dungeon a unique experience. The puzzles are clever, but not stupid, and the Ocarina is a fantastic tool to solve such puzzles. The bosses for the most part are fun (a few seem like item sponges). The character encountered in each of the game’s areas feel relatable and the world feels alive (except when its not supposed to).

The music in this game is superb and the music also conveys important information to the player such as when to prepare for danger and when certain enemies are in the area.

The exploration in this game also feels fantastic. Although Hyrule field pales in comparison to many modern open worlds, it was not only revolutionary for the time, but is still fun to explore. The world and each dungeon is full of hidden secrets that give Link optional upgrades to his gear, health bar, etc. The game rewards exploration, but does not require the player to run around the world interacting with everything until they are able to move on.

The combat was also not only revolutionary but is still present in many of today’s games. Dark Souls and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey borrow Ocarina’s Z-targeting lock on combat system that made combat in three dimensions satisfying to participate in.

Overall, Ocarina is a masterpiece that was not only revolutionary for its time, but still holds up to this day as one of the greatest games of all time. It is a must play for anyone who enjoys video games at all. It might not be your favorite game, but it will most definitely be worth your time.

A monumental achievement for videogames as a whole, this is a unanimous masterpiece, and it is a titan. This work clearly shows what a game made with heart can be like. This game wasn't created with the sole purpose of making money unlike so many games today, this game was made so that the players could have the best experience possible

This game was revolutionary for its time and added a few mechanics that are still being used today. Even though the graphics aren't up to date they feel refreshing and puts you into the atmosphere of the game really well. Definitely a must-play for everyone.

Featuring unparalleled 3D environments, a deep and involved quest, brilliant and intuitive play controls, and a well-developed cinematic quality that enhances rather than overwhelms the whole game experience, Miyamoto's latest soon-to-be-classic title deserves to be played by each and every person who might deign to consider themselves a fan of great games.
