  1. Don't pass up Robotron 64. Even if you are too young to remember the original, you're still not likely to find a N64 game with this kind of blessed simplicity ever again. This is one those "gotta beat my last score" kind of games that you'll be able to pull off the shelf and enjoy for the rest of your videogaming career.
  2. Yeah, this is what videogames should be all about -- indiscriminate carnage on a massive scale without a trace of cuteness, "nurturing and trading" or thought.
  3. As the levels progress and the waves of enemies become bigger and faster it's not uncommon for players to be engulfed in a Zen like trance, mindlessly mowing through levels oblivious to the time of day, their sleeping patterns or what parts of their body have been set on fire. That, you see, is what good games are all about.
  4. Thanks go to Crave for rescuing this title. It's fun, fast, frantic, and fairly addictive. The graphics shine, and the sound and music keep the game kicking.

Control scheme aside, it really doesn't offer gamers anything completely new or trend-setting, but instead delivers high amounts of brainless shooting and amazingly addictive gameplay that's both nostalgic and fun.
  6. At first glance, the game looks like it's moving faster than the old-school arcade version. But in reality, the game is very slow-paced. The robots never seem to get close enough to pose a threat. I went through 40 of the game's 200 levels before losing one life.
