    Players assume the role of Hiro, traveling through time with his two sidekicks, the beautiful, yet lethal Mikko and the powerful mercenary Superfly Johnson. The player must lead this team, interacting with them to guide them through perilous worlds, exploring vast levels that are filled with an array of intelligent enemies.
    In their quest to save history, players will journey through four different time periods, traveling from mythical Greece to a post apocalyptic San Francisco 500 years in the future. Battling over 60 different monstrous enemies with more than 30 different weapon types, breaching obstacles and unearthing secret locations.

    Slow, sometimes sloppy control mixed with boring, uninspired level design, dumb enemies, and sleepy weaponry come together for an entirely average N64 shooter.
  2. An exceedingly average first-person effort.
  3. Most importantly, Daikatana just isn't any fun. Anyone looking for a Nintendo 64 shooter should do themselves a favor and look elsewhere.

    I agree with Fernando F. This is one of the best games I have ever played. The gameplay, graphics and sound are simply unparalled. There may I agree with Fernando F.     A melhor das duas versões entre PC e N64, se você desconsiderar os patchs dos fãs da versão de PC. Obviamente que, os gráficos são bem mais modestos que a versão para computador e a mais icônica e, inusitada eu acho, é que na versão de Nintendo 64 o jogo não tem iluminação dinâmica de cenário... Para quem ainda não sabe, vou explicar. Daikatana seria lançado em dezembro de 1997, mas John Romero ao testar na E3 daquele ano uma demo de Quake II, ficou impressionado com a nova engine de John Carmack, seu antigo parceiro da ID Software. Tal engine proporcionava uma iluminação dinâmica e colorida de cenário, algo que na época era um salto gráfico significativo, algo parecido como que temos agora em 2021 com o raytracing. Romero conseguiu convencer a Eidos, publicadora que iria distribuir Daikatana e outros 5 jogos da Ion Storm, a adiar o prazo de entrega, garantindo que a mudança de engine fosse essencial para o design final do jogo, o que culminou em um atraso monumental de mais de dois anos, devido a engine de Quake II ser diferente da engine de Quake I. Pois é, o jogo precisou ser recomeçado... Do ZERO. Dada essa história digna de quadro dos trapalhões, voltemos a falar da versão de Nintendo 64. Como já dissera aqui, o jogo não possui a iluminação colorida dinâmica que a versão de PC trazia, os gráficos são bem modestos, o que já era esperado para o Nintendo 64 e seu cartuchinho, e uma trilha sonora bem adaptada, mas bem “capada” devido as limitações do cartucho. As cutscenes não apresentam diálogos, apenas em caixa de texto e uma musica e efeitos sonoros, algo normal no 64. Mas, será que a versão de 64 só perdeu? Não. Primeiro que a versão original de 64 você só controla o Hiro, e os outros personagens não estão no cenário para te atrapalhar, bem parecido com a versão de PC com o patch de atualização. Diálogos foram adicionados para os funcionários da Corporação Mishima em 2455, algo que não havia na versão de PC. Acho a versão de Nintendo 64 realmente muito boa, ouso dizer que é um dos melhores jogos do N64; é uma pena que a versão problemática do PC, somado a aquela péssima propaganda da revista, acabou por queimar a reputação do jogo no console da Nintendo... Também a excelente versão de Game Boy Color sofrera muito pelo mesmo motivo. Expand

    This game may be crap but just be happy they took the crappy friend AI out of the N64 version so the game was a bit better. So that's why I am giving it a 6 because the game was pretty fun and difficult so I say check this out. Remember I mean the N64 version not the PC. You will throw your PC out the window if you play the PC port just a heads up. Expand

    I was looking for fun classic games and found this one. Its really hard to like the game theres few positives on it. Even the shooting is no fun because of the weapons and enemies and when you die it is by accident or by the stupid AI of your comrades. However the four totally different episodes are fun to explore for a short while. Expand
