What a massive disappointment. My buddy and I are both huge Marvel fans and had pre-ordered the game.

The intro to the game has you start as Cap and introduces you to his moves. You travel through the city and are introduced to a handful of characters. There are some very cinematic moments, and it really felt like they had hit it out of the park. Then you start the actual game.

Then you start the actual game. You and three other people (or bots) pick your hero, then you each select which stage you want to play, or select random. It spins around like wheel of fortune until it lands on a player and that stage is selected.

Every stage looks different, but they are all basically the same. A few different types of minions spawn and you basically button mash until they are all dead. There are random boss encounters that are also repetitive. Nothing about any of the minions or bosses are challenging. You quickly find out the most effective move for your character (and they are the same for every enemy including bosses) and spam it until everything is dead.

The game looks fantastic, and it is fun to play as your favorite Marvel characters once. This is not a game to spend $40 dollars on though. I probably wouldn't spend more than $10 and only play it occasionally when new content comes out.

Biggest entertainment disappointment so far in 2018.

Pretty fun Arcade style game. 18 characters all with unique powers; and in VR it's a lot of fun. It's a Co-op Brawler. However, there's about 8 maps, but the objective is the same for each. Could have been a better launch by Sanzaru with more game modes and varying playstyle, but they've already stated and confirmed they're working on updates and free DLCs; so hopefully thePretty fun Arcade style game. 18 characters all with unique powers; and in VR it's a lot of fun. Marvel Powers United VR's high production value can't keep secret the game's true identity: unabashed wave shooting mechanics, bland enemies, and arcade gameplay that's more about points than fun or skill. If you were hoping that Powers United would make you feel like your favorite superhero, you'll be disappointed that the game offers no story, character development/progression, or meaningful exploration of the rich Marvel universe, and instead hinges around collecting outfits, poses, and props.

The huge number of playable characters may suggest a big adventure is concealed in Marvel Powers United VR. Well, not really. But it's still worth your time, especially if you want to play with all your friends in VR.

In spite of a very classical structure and a certain underlying redundancy, in short, we perceive that Marvel Powers United VR has been realized with passion and maximum respect for the original works.
