His confidence is steeled by his mystical ability to transform at-will into noble creatures including a rampaging wild boar, capable of spearing enemies on his horn, a mighty eagle that can soar over deadly hazards and a fearsome dragon able to vanquish all who stand in it's path.

    Totem Runner, at its core, is another side-scrolling runner, which isn't exactly the most complex genre on the planet. While it may not bring revolutionary new depth to iOS gaming, though, it deserves attention because it's such an impressive artistic achievement.

    There are better auto-running platformers out there, but Totem Runner does a good job of keeping up. The experience is well-balanced between twitchy button handling and careful planning-it's just a touch cerebral, and never too frustrating.

    Accelerometer controls act with 'jerky' responses; thankfully alternate controls are available (if difficult to manipulate).

    Totem Runner is a funny and somewhat original take on the endless runner formula, and it also boosts some truly stylish and evocative visuals. It's a little light on content, but hopefully future updates will fix this issue.
