    Tomb Raider 2 is a great game, probably the best of Core's Tomb Raider titles. From a technical standpoint, this is an excellent port, and it includes all of the official content ever released for the game.

    Awkward virtual controls mean that any fondness for the source material of Tomb Raider II soon fades.

    Tomb Raider II is a classic, but maybe not so timeless as you could think, at least if proposed with this control scheme.

    I admire what Square Enix tried to do with this release, and I believe they did the best they could do with the controls. However, when porting a game this complex, there's not a lot of room for change, and action-adventure is just not a genre that translates well to touch screens.

    What was a great console game almost 20 years ago simply doesn't work on a touchscreen.
