Mar 18, 2011Sure, it's not all that different from the N.O.V.A.'s or the Modern Combats, and it would be nice to see Gameloft stretch themselves a little more in a future FPS. But no other company out there makes iPhone FPSes as big or exciting as Gameloft. If you want a tactical shooter in your pocket, you've come to the right place.
-
Mar 17, 2011Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard may not be as polished and detailed in its gameplay compared to its console counterparts or even other recent releases by Gameloft, but it still stands up well as a portable version of a challenging tactical shooter.
-
Mar 17, 2011If you're only in it for multiplayer, you might feel a little restricted with only 5 maps and 5 guns to choose from, but the single player campaign more than makes up for this. I was truly impressed by the quality that's gone into it.
-
Mar 23, 2011If you are looking for something new away from the N.O.V.A series, this is a great contender for your collection.
-
Dec 28, 2011Between the smooth graphics, fun aiming controls, and the immersive tactical team gameplay, I'd highly recommend Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard.
-
Mar 28, 2011While Rainbow Six plays and controls like most other Gameloft shooters, the additional of strategic maneuvers and co-op multiplayer help to separate it from the pack and give it an identity all its own.
-
Mar 18, 2011This tactical FPS impresses with its slick shooting mechanics and presentation, but suffers from cluttered touch-screen controls.
-
Mar 17, 2011Of course, outstanding graphics don't make a great game. Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard is without question one of the App Store's premier first person shooters.
-
May 12, 2011For the most part it's a well-made shooter with a high-quality campaign, but players might want to forego playing online until the development team irons some of the kinks out.
-
May 3, 2011This is a good installment in the series, well-optimized for Apple devices. In spite of a multiplayer mode than only works well with very good connections, this is a good game if you can get used to the controls.
-
Apr 1, 2011The best way to sum up Rainbow Six Shadow Vanguard is that it's very competent in every area, but far from the killer app that many might have hoped it would be.
-
Mar 17, 2011It can be hard to master, and what Rainbow Six game isn't?, but once you get into a few multi-player bouts you'll get a good and solid multi-player experience, it's just not quite great.
-
Mar 29, 2011Even if it's very challenging and technically great, Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard is ruined by chaotic and inaccurate controls. To be clear, gunfights are amusing and aiming with the gyro is easy and fun. Another problem of the game is the crowded GUI, with a lot of icons that invade the screen, while teammates and enemies suffer of a terrible AI.
-
Mar 19, 2011The cluttered controls and odd intelligence of both enemies and teammates throws a little cold water on the game.
-
Mar 23, 2011Quotation forthcoming.
-
Mar 18, 2011Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Shadow Vanguard should be a good game, yet uncharacteristic lack of polish and attention to detail derail this tactical shooter.
-
Apr 4, 2011Shadow Vanguard, despite all its bells and whistles, proves to be a lacklustre affair, to be endured rather than enjoyed. Its initial showy promise is just a facade. Move along, there's nothing more to see here.
