So what are you waiting for, pick up your iPad, choose your virtual golfer and starting hitting those balls as you improve your skills and become the best possible virtual golfer you can be. With tons of replay value, this is gaming at its best on the iPad!

Despite changing little other than the graphics quality and swapping out some golfers and courses for new ones, Tiger remains the iOS champ and is worth picking up if you're a diehard golfer.

With eight courses, multiple modes for solo and multiplayer, and the addicting Facebook challenges, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12 HD has plenty to offer. There are a few minor issues but those can easily be addressed in a patch or the inevitable sequel coming next year. For now, it doesn't get any better than this when it comes to iPad golf.

My only real gripe about the game. You control the swing of the club by moving your finger first down and then quickly up the screen. You can add fade and draw to the shot by moving slightly to the left or right swiping upwards, which I found myself doing far too often. Maybe it's just me and my crappy fingers, or perhaps it was due to the screen size. I don't know, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Aside from a few minor quibbles mostly surrounding its integration with Facebook, Tiger Woods PGA TOUR 12 is a solid return for the series on the App Store and a great pickup for fans of golfing titles.

A big improvement over the original iOS version, but it doesn't feel a whole lot different gameplay-wise. The swipe mechanic for swinging works beautifully, just as it did before.

The tighter swipe controls and new power shots are a big plus. The Facebook-linked minigame is also a cool add. The commentary is pretty rough, though, and the rest of Tiger might feel a little familiar to loyal fans.

All this praise aside, the game's commentary comes up way short.

Certainly a welcome return, but it doesn't offer as nearly as much as I had hoped. Tiger Challenge and the Facebook integration are strong additions, and the tight controls, particularly on the iPad version are second to none. But, somehow I expected more from EA… more content, more courses, more tightly integrated commentary, and much more in the visuals department (and that's coming from someone who cherishes gameplay).

A predictably solid new instalment, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 balances a lack of online multiplayer and other problem areas with great swing mechanics and courses.

With Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12, the EA Sports series returns to the App Store with improved graphics, new modes and the same gameplay that made the previous episode so enjoyable for all the golf enthusiasts out there. What a pity there's no online multiplayer.

This isn't a game that will convince non-golfers to take up the sport, whether virtually or otherwise, but if you're a fan and need a golfing fix on the go, you can do a lot worse than Tiger Woods PGA Tour 12 for the iPad.
