Apr 5, 2018This first release of Pillars only begins the story of the novel across its seven initial chapters, but if subsequent entries in the series are anything like this one, you have a lot to look forward to. The simple adventure style really works for a game with such a compelling and unique narrative, to the point that I‘m chomping at the bit to play the next games already.

Apr 10, 2018The Pillars of the Earth is a detailed and rich narrative adventure with a few irritating audio goofs that break the immersion.
-
Apr 5, 2018Between narrative and point & click, live a first dark and icy tome perfectly inspired by Ken Follet's novel. Superb, full of danger and conspiracy, you will spend a pleasant time in England of the 12th century where famine and treachery reign.
-
Apr 16, 2018The Pillars of the Earth isn't focused on puzzle design, so you can't expect a traditional graphic adventure from this game, but it's a perfect example of compelling narrative in videogame form.
-
Apr 26, 2018It’s a slow burn and has zero sense of humour, but believable characters, decent voice-acting, and accurate historical detail make for a sturdy if linear game. This is only the first half of book one, so don’t expect any neat resolutions.
