Jul 22, 2012One of the only things I wished for with Arkham Asylum was the ability to use the Batmobile. Alas, it wasn't possible, but here it is.
-
Jul 26, 2012A great movie translated to a great videogame. A fun, complete and lasting game, which blends beat'em up and sandbox gameplay and shows great visuals. It can become repetitive and it is not very challenging for seasoned players, but it is a great game for Batman fans.
-
Sep 11, 2012The Dark Knight Rises is a solid action game, with plenty of missions and a nice open-world map to explore. Camera and controls don't always work as they should, but it's a minor shortcoming.
-
Jul 22, 2012The Dark Knight Rises follows in the wake of a film that is already being regarded the best in the series, meaning it was always a tough act to follow; it's a shame more time wasn't spent on polishing out the game's many quirks, but it remains a solid action title thanks to its focus on story-missions and finely crafted encounters.
-
Jul 22, 2012While the game isn't perfect, it's definitely a fun addition for all Batman fans. It's a great way to kill time before the movie.
-
Jul 20, 2012The Dark Knight Rises attempts a console-style superhero game, but without the technical polish and enjoyable combat system that Gotham deserves.
-
Jul 30, 2012Gameloft has released an action-adventure game that attempts to achieve the same levels of greatness found in the Christopher Nolan´s film, but lacks in some areas.
-
Jul 30, 2012The Dark Knight Rises is an Arkham City Lite, one whose problems are more often due to hardware restraints than laziness on behalf of the developers. The combat may not be on par with Arkham City Lockdown, but no other mobile game has delivered a sandbox experience that looks as good as this. An incredibly ambitious project, but one that sadly fails to fulfill all of its goals.
-
Jul 27, 2012The Dark Knight Rises, like The Amazing Spider-Man, is a game that I desperately want to love, but I'd be fooling myself if I didn't say it could be a good deal better. Add in additional hand-to-hand combat options, debug the crashes, and diversify the missions and you'd have a perfect game.
-
Jul 25, 2012Overall, The Dark Knight Rises overcomes a few minor issues and provides fans with something worthy of the Batman name in a suitably shadowy Gotham playground.
-
Jul 22, 2012Do we really need in-app purchases that effectively over-simplify (even break) the game early on?
-
Jul 31, 2012Like most Gameloft's titles, it's a small-scale rendition of a bigger console experience that's worth playing for all the collectibles, missions, and upgrades, despite several shortcomings.
-
Jul 30, 2012Even though it's fun to level up and the graphics are drop dead gorgeous, The Dark Knight is hard to control and Gameloft has added all sorts of help to compensate this. Therefore, it lacks challenge and just feels bland in the end.
-
Jul 23, 2012While The Dark Knight Rises doesn't quite live up to its cinematic namesake, Gameloft deserve credit for capturing the feel of the Arkham titles if not the depth and challenge. It's very true to the film without being a classic in its own right, so the so-called Nolanites will no doubt find something to appreciate here.
-
Aug 10, 2012Prowling around a fully-realized, open-world Gotham City is impressive and can be very fun. But stiff controls, boring combat, frequent bugs and aggressive in-app purchases mar the experience.
-
Jul 22, 2012Dark Knight is a pale imitation of the Arkham games, with boring combat, cheap presentation, and dull missions. It works, but it never thrills.
-
Jul 22, 2012Gameloft's cloners have excelled themselves in replicating all the basics of Batman: Arkham City on a smartphone - albeit only at shallow, surface level.
-
Jul 30, 2012With a laborious combat system, sterile mission designs, and a weak retelling of the storyline crippling it, TDKR game is an entirely skippable experience.
-
Jul 24, 2012If seeing The Dark Knight Rises has inspired you to put the cape back on, do yourself a favour and go back to either of Rocksteady's games instead. Because this one is wearing hockey pads.
