This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The amazing spiderman 2 by gameloft is a huge improvement from the previous amazing spiderman. Graphics have been tweaked significantlly as the game looks like a late ps2 game with sharp textures and refelections on bulidings.Voice acting is thankfully very good as the voice actors do a fine job of moving the story forward. The city has also been expanded as manhatten is much larger with tons of side missions to do. Web swinging is a blast as I loved diving from the sky and doing dizzing acrobactics with smooth animations. The Combat system is also improved as you have a decent amount of combos to Chain together with a counter system that relies on timing.Boss fights involve mashing combos and quick time events mixed with chasing the boss. Once again you gain currency as you progress throughtout the game. You can increase skills by spending this money on skills. You have several skills to choose from that are branched out in different directions. Some of the upgrades can be expensive and might need grinding. Lastly Gameloft has included online events that change such as brawling or catching criminals in a limited time period. Gameloft clearly borrowed this from the batman arkham games. But it is a blast to play as you earn rewards. However you need key which costs 1000 coins. You can usually win a key as a reward. Unfortunately the game has many flaws that might frustrate or piss some people off. First of all the game requires wifi which is awful decision as this is a single player game, and to add insult to injury, the game crashes much to often several times the game crashes on a random occurance. There are a few laughable bugs such as spideys head going through buildings or bullets being fired from invisible guns, to textures popping up as you move along. The car textures are fairly low res and ugly. Lastly the game has ridiculous prices for in app purchases as extra costumes cost 5.99 to$30! This is terrible as the game is already paid for and shouldn't be there. However their optional and not required. Also the game gets repetive so it is suggested to play in. Short sessions.Overall a great game that is held back by crash issues, bugs, repetitive grinding and not truly being a " mobile game ". If these issues are fixed then; this game is a absolute blast to play Expand

This game is an absolute abortion of a video game. Riddled with in app purchases, riddled with repetitive gameplay, and just a generally bland story line. The first time I've played this game I loved the web slinging mainly because the only other spider-man games I've played was web of shadows on the DS and spider-man 2 on the pc, and now it's alright. Now on to the good things. For a mobile game the graphics are alright, though I've seen better on mobile devices. The combat is some what enjoyable and that's about it. This game could've been more enjoyable if it wasn't for all the micro transactions, the different suits are required to beat the game because of the armor, the only other way to beat the game is to get good at the combat. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Well, big disappointment, not gonna lie. If you are a big fan of the web-head, sorry pal, but this game is a PARTIAL DOWNGRADE from the first one. The first one had a cool combat, smooth web-swinging and a little unstable frame rate, alongside with good graphics. This one... Has a worse web-swinging than the first one (the first one had a web that attached to building sometimes and also, Spidey WAS affected by the direction of the web), a quite slow combat and an even worse frame rate. The game is good, but there's nothing to see, unless you want to see how many things the game downgraded compared to the first one. Also, way too much QTE. I. HATE. QTE. WHEN. POORLY. EXECUTED. And this is one of the cases it is poorly executed. You're in combat? QTE for the Spider-Sense. You're watching a cutscene? An intrusive QTE appears. Wanna finish your enemy? QTE involving swiping the finger on the screen and touching it in the right moment and right position to get webs on the criminal. Good game, but a flawed one that manages to be worse than that amazing first game. Expand

It could have been really good, if the gameplay wasnt the same over and over and over again which makes it quite boring.

A bit repetitive and not very innovative action adventure game based on the recent film. Still, the game is fun to play and graphically has been recreated with charm.

Despite solid controls and presentation, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 lacks any sort of heart and soul, and its repetitive missions lend this open-world adventure a pervading sense of dullness and drudgery.

While Manhattan has been beautifully realised (at least by mobile standards), it’s been weighed down by clumsy controls, and random drops in frame rate. The combat had potential, but it lacks the depth necessary to fully realise it. In-app purchases are thankfully unnecessary, but their existence is still troublesome, and the internet connection requirement is an unnecessary nuisance.
