Feb 20, 2014Looking at it as a conventional game, in other words, it's not terribly impressive – short, simple and perfectly linear. But as an interactive story, or perhaps more accurately a poem, it is superb.

Grab It MagazineApr 14, 2014A game so enchanting you’ll curse the fact it has to end. I thought the best way to sum up Tengami is via a haiku poem: Journey through paper; Origami zen garden; A brief distraction. [Episode 3, April 2014]

Apple'N'AppsFeb 23, 2014Tengami is an absolute masterpiece of game development that is an immersive experience that is not to be missed making it a must buy.
-
Mar 5, 2014The journey is captivating but it's over all too soon, and for all its beauty the game's world feels empty without other characters to speak to.
-
Feb 20, 2014Backed with some solid gameplay, I think Tengami more than proves itself worthy of a place in the adventure fan's library.
-
Feb 27, 2014Tengami is a beautiful, mysterious adventure game, even if it's a little annoying to play at times.
-
Feb 26, 2014A gorgeous iOS game to look at granted with an outstanding art direction. Its gameplay is not as good and sophisticated, though.
-
Feb 20, 2014It’s a beautiful, original concept that falls just shy of something special.
-
May 12, 2014This pop-up book isn’t just for children; if you’re looking for a peaceful interlude to while an afternoon away, check Tengami out.
-
Mar 1, 2014Tengami is a serene, wondrous experience that can enchant anyone of all ages. As an interactive experience it works perfectly, but gameplay wise it doesn't deliver the same quality.
-
Feb 21, 2014If you can stand the slow pace and suffer through a few unfair puzzles, you’ll find Tengami’s breathtaking visual beauty and slick interface more than make up for any shortcomings.
-
Feb 20, 2014A gorgeous, engrossing experience, but it's too straightforward, too brief, and too slow to be an essential adventure.
-
Mar 17, 2014Shallow but with an incredible exterior. Get it for the views.
-
Mar 3, 2014I wanted more: more depth, more interaction, more complexity; a hero's journey with more at stake than flowers.
-
Feb 25, 2014There are moments of brilliance in Tengami, both in its wonderful origami visuals and some clever paper folding puzzles. But the plodding and confusion between those moments of brilliance undermine its splendour and the meditative tone the game tries to achieve.
-
Feb 24, 2014Rigid in spots and light on impact, Tengami still feels like the ideal kind of App Store curio: it’s short, sweet, intimate, and handcrafted, with dreamy environs and meditative, low-key puzzles.
-
Feb 20, 2014Tengami’s world is as rich and stimulating as any you’re likely to find on iOS, but there’s something missing. Like an origami crane, it’s an admirable piece of craftsmanship, but the result remains rather flimsy and lightweight.
-
Feb 20, 2014Tengami is ridiculously beautiful, but its gorgeous looks only go so far.
-
Hyper MagazineApr 9, 2014A game for players who value gorgeous visuals above all else. [May 2014, p.83]
-
Feb 20, 2014At its best, Tengami is something you want to freeze-frame and hang on the wall. For a video game, that shouldn't be taken as a compliment.
