Jan 30, 2013The sequel to the immensely popular Temple Run isn't a game that reinvents the genre or does anything radically new. It's the same infectious concept as its predecessor but with a few minor differences. That means it's still an addicting game that you'll probably play for longer than you were expecting.
-
Jan 25, 2013Temple Run 2 is a good endless runner game, better in some ways than the original, and in other ways worse.
-
Jan 22, 2013The biggest flaw Temple Run 2 betrays is its conservatism. The amount of work that has gone into the game is evident, and it's hard to fault an accessible, thrilling game that offers itself to you for free - but it's so similar to its predecessor that it ultimately feels a bit unnecessary.
-
Jan 21, 2013Aside from the improved graphics and the addition of minecarts, there's not much here that's actually new. Other endless runners have raised the bar for what we expect from this genre. Still, even though Temple Run is no longer the king, it's still a fun game.
-
Jan 18, 2013Whether it justifies all 170 million of its downloads is open to question but there's no denying this sequel is prettier and even more addictive than the original.
-
Jan 17, 2013Less a breath of fresh air, more a blast of air conditioning, Temple Run 2 adds little to the endless-runner genre, though it is fun. It's just not the shot in the arm some of us were hoping for.
-
Mar 6, 2013Is it so weird that I’d rather pay $5 up front for a game based on fun, addictive core design principles than a “freemium” game that ends up feeling like an interactive advertisement for bundles of coins or gems or Smurfberries or whatever the currency of the moment is?
-
Jan 19, 2013Temple Run was by no means the first endless runner on the mobile scene, and its success paved the way for an influx of worthy competitors. With this in mind, Temple Run 2 feels like a trek across well-trodden ground, albeit a scenic one, rather than a substantial expansion of an existing formula.
-
Jan 17, 2013At its core, Temple Run is still a breathlessly exciting game. Equally, however, it's hard not to feel a little cheated by a decidedly unambitious follow-up that has its eye firmly trained on your wallet.

Jan 27, 2013This is a great game. It's not so much different from the first one, but that's okay. Why change what works?
-
May 19, 2023definitely overrated its good but not great like the OG was. also making a new one was unnecessary.
