If you are looking for a Tap Tap Revolution-like experience and are tired of playing the same old corporate stuff, give Tapic a try. It's only 99 cents, and if you like how it plays, it has as much replayability as you have music.

My other biggest point of contention is having to play for an extensive period of time (or spend real life money) before being able to unlock the landscape mode. It just feels like a cheap aspect to an otherwise excellently presented game.

Tapic shows that there's room for rhythm games to generate their own content intelligently, but without more of the trappings of the genre it's a fairly bland example.
