Subway Surfers is an awesome running game, probably the best one available on the App Store. And it's free.

This isn't innovative or the first of its kind, but Surfers does expand and evolve what we've come to know as the endless runner.

Looked at on its own (which I'm not sure it deserves) it's an enjoyable enough romp with plenty of replay value. And it's free, and it doesn't really push purchases on me, so that's all to be appreciated. Still, it would be nice to see these values applied to new ideas on iOS a bit more, right? Ah who are we kidding.

Subway Surfers has a few flaws, but as a free game, it's a fun experience, particularly if you're into the "run forever" style of gaming. And if you've only experienced the 2D style of that genre, then this game makes a pretty good introduction to the 3D style.
