    This game is pure pay-to-win garbage. A player that has dropped even $20 on the game will have a nearly insurmountable advantage over free players. After that, it becomes an arms race to see who can spend the most. After each match, you can view the other players' cards to see what they were using. Forget talk about graphics, game mechanics, and what Star Wars characters made it into the game. Without a PVE component, it all boils down to how much money you are willing to piss away into Netmarble's coffers. The concept of a Star Wars MOBA is intriguing, but the execution of Force Arena is a sad attempt to milk fans.… Expand

    I was really looking forward to this game. Combining Clash Royal with a more traditional moba is a pretty good idea, especially for a mobile game where this genre works surprising well with a touchscreen. While Force Arena's current state has a lot of problems, these are early fixable. Lets start with the good stuff.

    Good stuff: The star wars paint job is quite good. The character    I was really looking forward to this game. Combining Clash Royal with a more traditional moba is a pretty good idea, especially for a mobile game where this genre works surprising well with a touchscreen. While Force Arena's current state has a lot of problems, these are early fixable. Lets start with the good stuff.

    Good stuff:
    The star wars paint job is quite good. The character models look pretty good. Some of them nail their movie likeness, like Director Krennic, or Luke Skywalker. Not perfect, but impressive none the less. The arenas you fight in look like the planets they are based on. The music is well placed sometimes, but other times it gets too chaotic. So overall, the presentation is pretty good.

    The combination of cards mixed with your selected hero is interesting, and offers a lot of deck combinations to explore. Also, Tie fighter and X wing fly bys are super satisfying.

    The business model isn't too bad, at least by mobile standards. I feel like I get cards at a pretty steady pace. They also don't lock off the most popular characters through hours of play or your wallet. Since the game came out, I have gotten luke, solo, leia, and boba fett, which I appreciate and respect.

    The Bad Stuff:

    There is so much lag, on even the best internet connections.

    The movement is very slow and clunky, making everything more frustrating. You are given the option of a slow as molasses walk, or a run that lasts about 3 seconds by double tapping to move. This system is terrible, and makes movement that much more awful. One speed would have been preferred.

    There is no base to heal your character. The only thing that they give you is 2 - 3 health powerups placed just behind your towers. This is a poor choice, as now it is more worth it just to die and get your full health back then wait for a powerup. This really slows the game down and encourages rush type strategies that ruins the game.

    The Balancing is off, and really needs some tweaking. Some characters are just more powerful than others. and melee characters are at a serious disadvantage. This is the worst aspect of the game, and needs to be fixed immediately

    I will continue to play this game because I see the potential, and you can have good matches. With some major updates, care, and love from Netmarble, this game can become one of the best arena/moba games on the App store. Hopefully they love and respect Star Wars the way I do.    … Expand

    it is a great game for the smarthphone or tablet ,whatever you play it on it ,is good for many of hours
    but it is certainly far from the best like vainglory and other mobile moba's , are in my opinion better but it is afcource fun for star wars fan like me it has nice graphics and arenas but is nothing truely futuristic download it if you are a fan    ha my first review of an ios app

    The training mode is impressive. You get to pick your deck from any card in the game, even though you don't have that card yet.

    Lousy updates over time that introduced unnecessary barriers to gameplay unless you progressed, such as limiting how many cards you could have in your deck. The fact that you could overcome these barriers by progression isn't bad but....
    ...the pay to win factor. Spend money, buy booster packs, level up your cards a lot. This combined with the bad matchmaking system (I mostly get matched with higher or lower level players, nowhere in between) can make it hard to progress.

    Overall: Great concept, but terrible execution with it's updates, which alone outweighs the good parts about this game.    … Expand

    The ideas behind Force Arena are strong, but the game's free-to-play design, slow pace, and awkward controls make it hard to stick with. As much as I want to keep jumping into games to blast away as Han Solo, doing so just doesn't feel particularly good.

    It feels like Star Wars: Force Arena delivers enough fun and nostalgia that the de facto four-battle limit won’t be a dealbreaker, but it is something to keep in mind. It’s certainly a worthy addition to the overall pantheon of Star Wars mobile games, one that gives you new hope — pun fully intended — that creative ways to approach the world’s most famous sci-fi series are still out there.
