Star Wars: Assault Team is an engaging, strategy-minded card battler quest that's a blast for series fans. However, its steep challenge might push you to spend more than you originally intended to once you get sucked in.

Star Wars: Assault Team is a pretty neat little digital card game that’s only slightly impacted by some inherent clunkiness and monetization techniques.

Another card battle game based upon the adventures of Han Solo, R2D2 and all the Star Wars troupe. Basic gameplay but interesting enough.

It’s not a new concept by any stretch, but much like NimbleBit’s Tiny Death Star, Assault Team feels like an authentic Star Wars experience. Hearing Chewbacca’s roar, R2D2’s squeaks and Han’s cynical quips gave me a great sense of satisfaction. Plus I found myself pushing on and playing for just that little while longer for the simple joy of seeing which of the series’ many classic characters I’d pick up next. [Episode 4, April 2014]

Star Wars fanatics will love the music, sound effects and enemy models of Star Wars: Assault Team, but will scratch their heads at who their favorite characters are partied with. Nevertheless, Assault Team’s combat system and presentation are engaging and fun enough to shroud most players from realizing how pointless its story missions are.

This is another casual-focused collectible card game with role-playing elements, but it's a better version of one.

The sort of game where the micromanagement is more exciting than the actual action. [June 2014, p.78]

Star Wars: Team Assault's is a generic, bland card battler which makes halfhearted use of its iconic characters and settings.

If you're up for another round of card battling fare, or want to experience the genre with a Star Wars skin, then go for your life, but Star Wars: Assault Team is otherwise rather forgettable.

After you get past that initial hump and strengthen your team there is an enjoyable Star Wars RPG to be had. But that initial hump is brutal, and prompt many players to justifiably delete the game and never look back.
