    Spires wraps together high production values, a brilliant story and compelling gameplay to create a statisfying and challenging tactical experience.

    Spires could be considered at first look just another Tower Defense Game and, in fact, so it is. However, the good realization, the dramatic history and the professional voice of the narrator make the game better than many others in this genre.

    Story mode was also much shorter than I expected, but Survival, Puzzle, and something called Gauntlet mode help to up the replay value a bit, as well as Game Center integration.

    Spires falls flat despite some decent ideas and a polished presentation, but keep an eye out for updates that may make this a worthwhile grab.
