Spiral Episode 1

The game's narrative does a great job wrapping all of Spiral's components together in a story that's not only compelling but also just interesting. If any of this sounds remotely up your alley, you need to check out Spiral Episode 1.

Spiral Episode 1 isn’t perfect with a few drawbacks from time to time, but taken as a whole it’s one iOS experience not to be missed.

Spiral is a unique role playing game in the third-person viewpoint. As an investigator, players must uncover secrets hidden in this open world environment.

Featuring a polished presentation, a genuinely interesting storyline, and a clever tap-based combat mechanic, Spiral Episode 1 is an entertaining offering that promises more to come.

This action adventure that might be too linear for some, but generates real momentum with its story, impressive world, and varied gameplay.

Despite some hiccups, Spiral Episode 1 will grant you a good time.

Overall, the feeling Spiral gives is of a decent, if unremarkable game from a bygone era. Nothing we experienced is enough to recommend against it, though the starting price tag of $4.99 might be a little off-putting to some for a work of this quality. It doesn't really excel in any regard, but nor does it offend.

As disappointed as I was in the experience, I can’t help but look forward to future installments. There’s a lot of promise in Spiral and I’d like to see where the story goes and whether or not Pixel Hero Games will tighten up the controls. For now, I’ll rate Episode 1 with a modest 6.5. Let’s hope that subsequent episodes warrant higher scores.

Spiral Episode 1 is a passable adventure game that calls to mind the story-led JRPGs of the late '90s, but it doesn't offer a great deal of gameplay meat beyond a reasonably fresh battle system.
