Sorcery! 3 is easily the biggest and most robust gamebook inkle has produced to date.

It must be said that there’s some loss of nostalgia in Sorcery! 3, however. It’s an amazing game that you absolutely must play, but it’s much less of a gamebook than similar apps are.

This is – once again – brilliant fantasy. Hours fly by as you dive into ruins, magic and sword fights while the story is surprising as well as mysterious. Creative storytelling at its best. I am looking forward to the fourth and final installment.

Like a great novel, Inkle’s games can steal entire nights of sleep from you as you’re immersed in their text, and Sorcery! 3 is their most potent work to date.

The Sorcery-series offers a solid RPG experience with just words. Developer Inkle modernised the books from 1984 very well, and if you read carefully it will offer you a unique gaming experience.

Sorcery! 3 keeps on delivering some strong storytelling and a fascinating modern take on the old gamebooks we used to love.

The longer the series goes on, the further they seem to be moving away from the original story. Most of the "new" content seems to drag out the story and I found it getting quite tedious by the end. The rewind button is the only saving grace at these times. Full Review »
