Oct 19, 2012Sonic Jump takes a long-dormant genre and breathes new life into it. We can't recommend it enough.
-
Oct 29, 2012Sonic Jump does a good job in terms of gameplay and structure, with two different game modes and nice tilt / touch controls.
-
Oct 23, 2012It controls well, with Sonic reacting smoothly to the tilt controls.
-
Oct 23, 2012Despite reducing Sonic to only jumping, Sonic Jump does almost a better job at feeling like the hedgehog in its hey-day than other iOS releases; if only it didn't bring along the same baggage of similar vertical jumpers too.
-
Oct 23, 2012I am truly surprised, and actually really glad that Sega has made Sonic Jump a proper standalone game well worth it for both fans, and non-fans of Sonic the Hedgehog.
-
Oct 21, 2012If you're a fan of both Sonic games and jumping style games I'd recommend this one, but otherwise, save your pennies for something original.
-
Oct 21, 2012I admit to being sceptical about a jumping game featuring Sonic, but aside from the odd annoying level in the story mode and a feeling that Sonic really shouldn't be travelling upwards, something I don't think I'll ever get used to, Sonic Jump is an enjoyable little gem that took me by surprise.
-
Oct 19, 2012It isn't the most original entry in the Sonic canon, but Sonic Jump is a great little mobile game all the same.
-
Oct 29, 2012If you passed on Sonic Jump thinking it's a simple Doodle Jump clone, you owe it to yourself to give the game another look. Its emphasis on In-App Purchases and somewhat bland design are disappointing, but they don't detract from the pure jumping fun.
-
Oct 22, 2012Overall Sonic Jump is a solid entry to the Sonic library, a game built from the ground up for a specific device. It plays well and looks good on the iPhone retina display. There are plenty of better games out there but it is just nice to have another solid Sonic game to play.
-
Oct 21, 2012Old school fans of Sonic tend to want two things: speed and challenge. Sonic Jump delivers both, but just a little too late in the game.
-
Oct 19, 2012It's a fair addition to the Sonic universe, the kids will love it, and you may find that you yourself play it for far longer than you might expect.
-
Oct 19, 2012Pretty much the only lesson that should be taken from it is that it at least has consumable powerups that are cheap enough to buy with collected rings that they actually can become an integral part of gameplay, not just a plaything for the rich. Beyond that, this is a disappointingly pedestrian game.
