Jan 21, 2012If you've ever wanted to be a TV cop who acts with reckless disregard for civil society, all for the sake of catching the bad guys, this is your game.
-
Jan 23, 2012It's nice to see developers using touch controls in new and innovative ways, especially when it involves car chases, 360 degree burn-outs, ramming, and slow motion vehicle smashes.
-
Jan 26, 2012An open-world battle racer with more crash-bang-wallop than a brass band in a bar-room brawl. It just needs a smidgen more dev to realise its full potential.
-
Jan 23, 2012Smash Cops should be given praise for trying something new in its control system and daring to be different with the camera angle.
-
Jan 21, 2012Smash Cops doesn't overstay its welcome by forcing players to deal with its limited variety in gameplay; thanks to this the game remains short, sharp and a fun way to blast away an hour or two.
-
Jan 21, 2012Featuring a clever control system, terrific graphics, and a variety of missions, Smash Cops is a fun, albeit short, timewaster.
-
Jan 18, 2012Smash Cops is a cool action racer based around stopping fugitives by ramming them. It takes skill to master, and it is a real joy unlocking new cars and levels. The game could do with better music, or at least the option to use your own playlist. However, the excellent graphics, innovative controls and intense action still makes it an easy recommendation in my book.
-
Mar 30, 2012Smash Cops is a fun and fresh driving experience, as it features some unique touch controls and a nice sense of impact. The game comes with a good number of missions and vehicles you have to unlock by gaining stars, and it will keep you entertained for a while.
-
Jan 31, 2012Thanks to a brand new control system Smash Cops feels really good and reminds of the Criterion's games atmospheres.
-
Jan 24, 2012Smash Cops is ludicrous, and I certainly think that in a world where sitting protesters are pepper sprayed, no current police department should ever be allowed to play this game lest they get the wrong idea from playing. The issues can get annoying, but there's still something viscerally entertaining about smashing cars at high speeds.
-
Jan 21, 2012Smash Cops offers a fantastic new control scheme and plenty of polish, making Hutch a developer that's definitely worth keeping an eye on in 2012. But their debut has left us with mixed feelings. We love the originality that's here – we just wish it could have gone a little further into the style of missions on offer.
-
Feb 6, 2012Smash Cops is a game that bets on a simple control scheme but it will not please everyone. It needs some habit and can even be frustrating in the short term.
-
Jan 21, 2012Don't get us wrong. We like Smash Cops, but there's simply not enough meat on this game's bones to make it one of the premier titles on the App Store. Wait for Hutch Games to add more levels via free update (if that's even a possibility), or at the very least, a price drop.
-
Jan 19, 2012An acceptable game rising from the foundations of a great one. Hutch has proved it can do amazing things with Apple's touchscreen but, this time at least, it's provided dubious implementation of almost everything else.
-
Jan 19, 2012Hutch is to be congratulated for coming up with a control system for touch screen driving games that really works in a simple yet gratifying way. It's just a shame that it debuts in a game so determined to penalise you for enjoying its knockabout potential.
-
Mar 13, 2012Sameness is the worst enemy of Smash Cops. A miniscule set of missions will wear you out after just an hour and a half (yep, that's how short the game's career mode is).
