Slayin

Slayin' is one of the best games I've played on iOS in some time. I'm really glad that it keeps In-App-Purchasing down to a minimum, and delivers enough thrills (retro or otherwise) to justify the meager price tag. If you're a fan of retro games and prefer gaming in small chunks, give this a shot immediately.

Slayin is an endless action-RPG that is exceptionally retro, and just plain exceptionally good.

A charming, fast and overwhelming arcade game that offer short but intense play sessions, with simple rules but a neat score system.

This is anything but another endless runner. Mixing RPG and action features, Slayin is a great surprise for those tired of the same concept again and again.

Slayin' knows exactly what it is, an action game with some RPG seasoning to keep the player invested, but after a few plays, you'll see everything this title has to offer you.

Featuring 8-bit graphics, a catchy chiptune soundtrack, and ginormous buttons for easy control, Slayin looks and feels like an old-school arcade game shrunk down to pocket size.

We could make the argument that extreme grinding to unlock the best goodies somewhat lessens the appeal, or that the developers priced things too high, but neither of these debatable issues ruin Slayin. If anything, it's an ideal game for those of us who grew up mashing buttons on those NES controllers, with a bowl of Teddy Grahams and Ecto-Cooler within reach for much-needed breaks.

For a certain type of gamer, Slayin offers a rockin good time.

Slayin is a solid casual game that chooses its influences wisely but doesn't entirely do them justice.

While there is no denying that Slayin is an incredibly charming title, it’s hard to recommend a game based on charm alone. Yes, this is a great way to kill a couple minutes, but it is also easily forgettable and just about as niche as it gets.
