Liberation Dx2 does the Shin Megami Tensei franchise justice as an engrossing RPG for mobile with impressive looks and equally enjoyable gameplay.

If you like the series, this one should definitely be on your list, and if you’re completely unfamiliar with Shin Megami Tensei, it’s still worth checking out if you’re a fan of RPGs in general. Undoubtedly there’s some grinding to be done the further you get - especially if you want to avoid microtransactions - but that’s fairly standard for this type of game, rather than being unique to Liberation.

Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is a great introduction to the series for those new to it, and nice way to get SMT action in smaller bites for fans. Definitely worth playing regardless of whether you've played SMT before or not.

Sure, it's possible to receive an especially rare and powerful demon through summoning, but not everyone is going to have the patience for a less than .01% chance. Those who take the time to learn the many intricacies will discover that the results are quite rewarding. A well-equipped and balanced party will overcome the most improbable of challenges. The automated features are especially convenient, and gamers can dedicate as much or as little of their time as desired.

Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is quite a good mobile adaptation that feels and plays almost like a real entry in the franchise. Gacha rate is very low but most persistent players will be able to fuse almost any demon in the compendium. It drains lot of battery and might underperform on older systems.

Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 is worth playing especially if you’re a series fan. If anything, it’s a good way to satisfy our cravings as we await the release of Shin Megami Tensei V. Even if you have never played a Shin Megami Tensei game in your life, but the idea of a very mechanically-driven mobile game interests you, you may find a lot to appreciate here.

We therefore recommend venturing into the Liberation Dx2 adventure only to the most ardent (and patient) fans of the Atlus productions, constantly thirsty for the power of the demons.

Microtransactions do not affect the experience of the game, you can evolve a lot in it, but in terms of duel, maybe other more resourceful players can get better demons in lootboxes. But overall it's a good debut of the series on mobile android / ios. Expand

It is a mobile game so my expectations were extra low and yet it ended up absorbing me completely. Most staples of the MegaTen franchise are present and I've been very invested in the game since release. At the moment this is my favourite mobile game. Expand

The gameplay is good but sometimes repetitive and boring, the characters are not really good, the music is good. This game keeps things from SMT like demon fusion, demon negotiation, press talk, elemental affinities and macca. One of the bad thing from this game is the gacha system. Expand

I had higher expectations for this one.

This game does not work well (some features straight up don't work) on older phones and it is a very gacha-based. The in-game graphics were hit-or-miss, I'm not sure if the quality was just downgraded on my older phone though. The character designs of the human characters ranged from simple to crazy, I wish they had pick one or the other because it was jarring flipping back and forth.

The characters are great personality-wise, but the story is a little TOO simple and I was annoyed by how simple and meaningless the dialogue choices for the main character felt. I was also annoyed by how little we got to see/know the villain.

I love SMT so I was thrilled for a mobile game, but ended up deleting this one.
