Shadow Fight 2 comes with some of the best animations ever seen on a mobile device, hundreds of moves and weapons to unlock. What a pity the game becomes very hard very fast, forcing you to grind or buy some IAPs.

Even with the occasional control issues and often times frustrating tendency for moves to miss entirely, it’s hard not to recommend Shadow Fight 2. Personally I think it’s worth checking out just for the animations themselves, but there’s also a reasonably entertaining fighter behind them. Just make sure to bring your Zen with you.

I don't care much for the games on my iPad. This one is an example of what a the ios system is capable of as a game platform.

The second you jump into gameplay, the animations will impress you. They were probably motion captured, and therefor they tie into gameplay so damn much! The gameplay is simple, but youll notice that will change the further into the game you get. The game has loads of cool little game modes, that are each so unique (for an IOS game). The music is so good, it feels like it should be console release, and the user interface is good! The game has a story (sort of) that is maintained (sort of) through the game.

Damn only 5 reviews, thats sad. This game is great, and it just goes to show, how ignorant the gaming community can be. Its free, so don't hesitate to get this game! (although you may want to hold your wallet for those in-game purchases)

An otherwise beautifully made and animated game is completely spoiled by barely-functional controls and pay-to-win at every turn.

The virual joystick is locked in position, unlike most more modern versions which simply set the deadzone at the first point you touch. This means that, rather than dragging "down" to crouch, it feels more like you're meticulously dragging a little ball into a slot to crouch, made even more difficult by how small it is, meaning you'll generally point bottom-right or bottom-left before crouch.

This problem is accentuated by the chore of trying to walk; usually, the character will enter a spastic series of forward and backward flips before actually walking as it keeps registering the control input as too high.

The attack buttons are also far too small; I can cover them both quite easily with a single finger or thumb, which is what usually happens during play.

The P2W element is a joke. Fights are labelled by difficulty; if a fight needs better gear, it's labelled "impossible", which effectively means your equipment is too weedy to even damage the enemy within. This isn't a big issue. The real issue is that fights labelled "Hard" don't actually mean "Hey, this enemy has tougher gear than you, so will take more hits and deal more damage."

"Hard" actually means "Hey, this enemy will land impossible headshots, huge combos and constant criticals, all while having more health than a Dark Souls boss, until you spend some coins/gems on your gear. Once you do that, this enemy will be demoted to "Old Granny" difficulty and you may continue playing."

In short, a great concept, spoiled by poor controls and some serious combat rigging.
