Apr 5, 2012Saturday Morning RPG has heart, and in any kind of pop culture, that's the most important part.
-
Apr 5, 2012A homage to '80s pop culture and a legitimately entertaining role-playing title to boot, Saturday Morning RPG is as unique as it is enjoyable.

Games Master UKFeb 8, 2013[An] episodic JRPG-styled, pixelated feast. [July 2012, p.93]

Apr 16, 2012The real reward, however, is the humor and nostalgia brought to its target audience, the post-college cubicle-dwelling twenty and thirtysomething crowd.

Apr 10, 2012A fun, easy going, RPG with a heavy coating of 80s nostalgia. With an upfront cost of "free", it's hard not to recommend it.

Apr 10, 2012Saturday Morning RPG is a wonderfully fresh RPG experience that sports unique ideas and a nostalgic kicker to keep you hooked, though it doesn't get through entirely unscathed as it also sports its fair-share of gameplay problems that can kill the otherwise entertaining experience.

Feb 22, 2013It wouldn't be much of a review, but I could describe Saturday Morning RPG to you in just six words: "a love letter to the '80s." If you watched cartoons and movies back then, this game is aimed squarely at you.

-
May 7, 2012It's a curious experience, in spite of the battle pacing issues.
-
Apr 5, 2012Don't get us wrong. Saturday Morning RPG is a good game, just not a great one. We dig the old school references, the music is straight out of the 80s and the pixel art looks sweet on the iPad, but the trying combat and other problems bring the app down.
-
Apr 5, 2012Even if you like Saturday Morning RPG's style, the battles can be really tough and drawn out, so you'll have to be at the top of your game in both reflexes and finger-mashing endurance to stand a decent chance.
