    Unlike its big brother Puerto Rico, it's universal, so it can be played on both the iPhone and iPad, plus it's more immediately understandable and playable. Anyway, once you visit San Juan, you might just want to see what the rest of Puerto Rico has to offer.

    As far as the iOS implementation, I actually found San Juan to be a nicer experience over its board game brethren Puerto Rico. While both games hinge on a similar mechanic and identical theme, I found the simplicity of the cards to help immensely with the UI.

    A central fact about San Juan is that you're playing against the shuffle more than you're playing against the other players. If you're willing to draw out a ten-minute solitaire game into however long your asynchronous matches take, San Juan has multiplayer support. And even if you're not into multiplayer, it has a nifty take on leaderboards.

    This is for the Android version.
    Not every App game plays the game properly but this one does, so extra points for that.

    The AI is a sufficient challenge though I've never seen them use a Chapel or Library.
    The App looks dated but it is at least functional.
    I've had a lot of fun playing this game though 15 plays was enough to make me feel that I experienced the whole game. Of course, I could play more if nothing is available and it will still be fun but the excitement and anticipation that I first felt will be absen    … Full Review »
