Nintendo Force MagazineApr 29, 2020More of a free-friendly mobile game than its predecessors in the Nintendo-aligned app space. [Issue #43 – November/December 2019, p. 28SW]

Sep 2, 2019Pokémon Masters is different enough from Pokémon Go to warrant a download from all those who love Pokémon.

Aug 28, 2019While not giving back the sense of adventure and the unbridled collecting of the games that make up the main series of Game Freak, Pokémon Masters can represent an excellent pastime for those who are never satisfied with struggles between Pocket Monsters: production can indeed entertain with a story long-lived and a fair amount of content.
-
Sep 8, 2019We really like the concept and the gameplay, but it’s lacking content. We’re sure this will change soon, so keep an eye on it, since it has all the ingredients to end up being a must-have for Pokémon fans.
-
Sep 6, 2019Pokémon Masters is a good pick for any Pokéfan waiting for Shield and Sword. Even if the story isn’t that interesting, it has some good gameplay ideas and MXT doesn’t feel forced at all.
-
Sep 4, 2019Pokémon Masters is not a bad gacha game, it is only a gacha game like hundreds of others. Addictive, boring, sometimes a little bit fun.
-
Sep 1, 2019Pokémon Masters is a solid mobile release, and perhaps one of the most well-realised Pokémon mobile titles to date – especially in terms of presentation Sadly, the lack of any competitive element and little to do other than grind between events and story addition mean that it’s not entirely clear if the game will have the staying power required to keep people interested beyond the first few months. Still, the potential for character crossover in this game is unparalleled, and hopefully, it won't be squandered.

Aug 30, 2019If you’re a fan of the franchise, you’ll get a kick out of seeing your favourite Pokémon and trainers in such stunning detail. The writing is also a joy, providing a genuinely engaging story that we didn’t feel the need to skip. Core Pokémon RPG fans will find the battle system too easy, with little challenge. Heck, even gacha RPG fans might find the poor AI baffling, as their Pokémon don’t use the elemental strengths to their advantage often.
-
Sep 11, 2019Pokémon Masters lacks ambition and dedication in an interesting mobile game, with a traditional Pokémon flavor. However, it's not enough when we speak about one of the biggest videogames franchises. Only for fans.

Edge MagazineOct 10, 2019Once again we leave a Nintendo mobile game feeling a little underwhelmed. [Issue#338, p.114]
-
Sep 13, 2019Despite graphical sparkle, the lack of depth and vapid gacha mechanics rob the game of both charm and longevity, leaving the long slog only to those obsessed with completing their trainer roster despite the crushing tedium.

Sep 2, 2019Nice graphics and story. But boring gameplay... maybe good for young kids.
I only got a few hours in then couldn't go on any longer. -
