Feb 27, 2011Pix'n Love Rush is a surprisingly epic, retro-styled gem.
-
Feb 27, 2011Regardless of what it looks like, Pix'n is deep enough to drain hours on the couch, but also casual enough to distract throughout an entire commute.
-
Feb 27, 2011Pix'n Love Rush is the perfect example of how classic gaming can be paired with modern casual gaming, creating a challenging and addictive title that's almost endlessly appealing.
-
Mar 5, 2011Infused with equal doses of collection and avoidance mechanics, the quick bursts of a variety of game types will keep you on your toes and your fingers at the ready.
-
Feb 27, 2011Comes together beautifully to create a game that's perfectly suited for long or short play sessions, and beckons to be played over and over as you work towards high score glory.
-
Feb 27, 2011To be honest, with a full story mode and an extra quickplay mode or two, Pix'n Love would be well worthy of a premium price, and is the kind of game I love to show off to my friends. Right now, it's definitely a must-have for any device, and will leave an 8-bit smile on your face.
-
Feb 27, 2011The game is visually a treat when it isn't distracting and its individually separated level segments differentiate it from other endless platformers.
-
Feb 27, 2011A scoring system that completely alters the visual style of the game adds to the unique flavor of Pix'n Love Rush, and the fast gameplay makes it a perfect "pick-up-and-play" sort of game.
-
Feb 27, 2011The rapid-fire stage shifts, the straightforward but challenging gameplay, and the ease at which you can bounce in and out of Pix'n Love Rush all contribute to this stellar score.
-
Feb 27, 2011Pix'n Love Rush is a delight for ears and eyes, a truly sensory experience. Unfortunately, the two current game modes are short and sleazy, unable to hold the player's attention. We miss the lack of a true Story Mode and the game doesn't succeed in recreating the same alchemy between audiovisual experience and addictive gameplay that we have seen in titles like Geometry Wars.
-
Mar 20, 2011Consider 3 retrogaming lovers (Pix'n Love Editions, PastaGames developers, and Bulky Pix publishers), cook them in the same pot, and the resulting delicacy will be Pix'n Love Rush on the iPhone. A true homage to oldschool platformers, the game has simple and diabolically precise controls. Heavily reliant on a carefully crafted level-design, its 2 modes (collect the bonuses, dodge the maluses in the first one, and a crazy time attack) may drive some players mad before they get to improve their skills, but its fun lies there. A pure game of scoring - still one of the best past-times ever invented.
-
Games Master UKFeb 27, 2011It's repetitive, but that too is true to the game's old school inspiration. [Oct 2010, p.84]
