Jun 30, 2020Pascal's Wager is a real soulslike game, challenging and compelling, set in a disturbing, cursed world full of hideous creatures to fight with.
-
Jan 23, 2020Overall, Pascal’s Wager feels great to play despite its quirks. The combat is great and more than makes up for the graphical flaws and dubious voice acting, the character swapping mechanic is new and interesting, and it is delightfully dark. Despite its problems, I can’t wait to spend more time with it, and very much look forward to where it’s taken in the future. It has without a doubt exceeded my expectations and, with a little help, could readily meet my hopes. All it would take is a bit of polish, a few fixes, and a lot of editing.

Feb 19, 2020Pascal's Wager has ticked every box to draw in a gamer who enjoys realism, anticipation, and intrigue centered around combat that offers challenge. With a few tweaks, I have no doubt this game could go down in history as one of the best souls-like games to be released on a mobile phone, paving the way for many more titles similar to its level of entertainment.

Feb 12, 2020Pascal’s Wager brings a little bit of everything to the table. You’ll be faced with challenge after challenge, but overcoming those challenges never ceases to be satisfying. The game emphasizes tight combat and quick responses from the player to survive and it works well on a mobile device. Still, the best experience requires the use of a controller, but it’s tough to look past all the great elements of gameplay that this title presents. Those wanting to jump in without the confines of the mobile device can look forward to the PC and console release in the future.

Aug 31, 2020Though it's a very difficult expansion, Tides of Oblivion is a great side story for Pascal's Wager.
-
Feb 10, 2020While it’s undoubtedly accomplished and has console-grade production values, it’s never as feverishly gripping as its inspiration. Its viewpoint feels too narrow, and it has a nasty habit of letting the controller go unresponsive at the worst possible moments. It also only shows Xbox button prompts even with a DualShock connected.
-
Jan 24, 2020Pascal's Wager doesn't quite match the impressive standards of its inspiration, but Dark Souls fans should check it out.
-
Jan 23, 2020A deeply challenging iOS Souls-like that begs to be played with a controller, Pascal’s Wager indicates a true maturing of gaming on Apple’s platform.
