I found it to be not only a lot of fun, but a rewarding challenge at times as well. Yes, the dialogue and story might not be your thing, but you can always just skip past that. Don’t let an established IP stop you from playing what I consider to be a solid addition to turn-based strategy games.

Oz: Broken Kingdom delivers a visually fascinating - but also linear and sometimes repetitive - turn-based combat experience.

After a time, Oz: Broken Kingdom gets a little samey, and there are issues with running out of energy (a common problem for free-to-play games), but it’s a pretty fun ride regardless. Oz: Broken Kingdom doesn’t revolutionize the genre in any way, but it’s the kind of game that you’ll enjoy playing when you get the chance. Progress is reasonably simple to achieve thanks to its short and fast paced battles. And if we ever managed to liberate the land of Oz in the end, we think we’ll feel pretty pleased about that too.

Wonderful presentation and solid mechanics can only go so far in masking the game's occasionally overpowering F2P elements.

The game is definitely for min/maxers and “roll” players. If you enjoy character optimization, accumulating and upgrading powers, and fine tuning your choices for specific battles Oz will appeal to you. Battles are quick, fun, and rewarding. You should, however, be willing to either do some daily grinding or spend some real money to keep your heroes on par and all of your options open. If you are looking for a story-driven RPG for the “role”-playing elements, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

What frustrates me is the order of who will attack next. I sometimes end up making 1 attack while the enemy makes 2-3. I want to use many bad words in this review, but due to publicity i can't. Too much frustration, too many dead nerve cells come from this stupid and disorganized game. Expand
