If you’re in the mood for a relaxing little golf puzzle game, then I recommend giving OK Golf a try, but be warned about the controls. Hopefully that’s fixed sooner rather than later.

I find myself incredibly conflicted about OK Golf. There's a lot of cool things about it, but there's just some aspects to the game that other golf games have already gotten right, and there was no reason for OK Golf to go around messing with the golf formula. I'm interested to see what future content and updates bring to improve and diversify the golfing experience here, because there is a great game somewhere in here with some fixes. Until then, I have to say OK Golf is just...okay.

A golf game that strips a lot of things away, but manages to still hold the basic essence of the game.

There’s a fine, fine line between relaxing simplification and dullness, and OK Golf straddles it rather precariously. You’ll either find it a charming, laid back way to enjoy a golf puzzle or uninstall it after the first course or two.

OK Golf by OKIDOKICO doesn’t have a lot of charm, but then again, charm isn’t something it needs to have. It accomplishes everything it promises in the name – it’s an ok, but not particularly amazing, golf experience that can be enjoyed by golfers and non-golfers alike. What sets it apart from other mobile golfing experiences is its diorama-style holes. You never have to wonder what’s around the corner because you’re always working with a full 3D topographic view from tee to flag. Although the graphics aren’t exceptionally detailed, it’s very much beautiful in a minimalist sense.

The basic concepts in OK Golf are sound, but I wish there was more built around it. The game looks great and plays well enough, but once I finished it, I never felt the need to revisit it. Much like a diorama, OK Golf feels like a miniaturized golf experience that looks great, but is ultimately pretty lifeless.
