Mos Speedrun is a well-made platformer that encourages you to play the game in a way you probably wouldn't otherwise.

Mos Speedrun plays a lot like the recently-released League of Evil, and by that I mean that it does platforming right on a device where few have succeeded. Everything from the beat-heavy chiptune soundtrack to the high-resolution "8-bit" graphics reek of polish, and the game itself controls beautifully.

Mos Speedrun is a game that fans of retro platformers should definitely check out. The speedrun level format fits for short-burst on-the-go gaming, and the level designs are perfectly made to be played in several ways.

The levels are interesting, the controls are spot on, and the game uses adorable pixel art graphics and an awesome chiptune soundtrack.

Mos Speedrun is a fun old skool platformer with tight controls and some neat tricks that help make it stand out from the crowd.

It's great to see the magic of platformers digging its claws in to modern gamers and while Mos Speedrun can't compete with the classics it slots in well with the currently dominating genre of skill based platformers.

Mos Speedrun doesn't really do anything above and beyond the call of duty, but retro fans craving a challenge are sure to find yet another hidden gem in this title. While it isn't as good as, say, League of Evil, it's a pretty solid companion game for any retronauts out there.

It doesn't exactly break any new ground, but it takes the best of the old and repackages it for a new generation.

Sadly, however, I found the controls somewhat lackluster compared to everything else in the package.

It's a tidy little package, all in all - probably the closest thing the App Store has to Super Meat Boy, which is high praise indeed.

You'll need to don your exploratory cap, lace up your running shoes, and have darn-near-perfect anticipation and timing if you want to conquer this game.

A game like this requires user-friendly controls, and Mos Speedrun's default scheme fails to make the grade.

There's a point at which "retro stylings" cross over into plain old ugliness, and Mos Speedrun straddles that line.
