All in all, Modern Combat 5 ticks all the right boxes for gameplay, graphics and audio.

You may keep looking at it as a mere Call of Duty rip-off, but truth is Modern Combat 5: Blackout is the absolute best FPS you can play on a mobile device right now.

The fifth entry into the blockbuster Modern Combat series is what mobile shooters should aspire to.

The game has wonderful graphics and an intuitive gameplay. In the app there are many missions and many game modes. There are no in-app purchases and the game requires a persistent internet connection. The controls are very simple and the game offers many hours of gameplay.

A great game and a great production, probably a whole new standard for the genre on mobile devices. I would rather to see a more mature plot, but nevertheless Modern Combat 5 is loud and fun, and should be enough for fans.

Modern Combat 5: Blackout is a mixed but overall great experience. If you come for the singleplayer campaign, you can easily deduct a number from the final grade due to a fragmented campaign. Are you looking for some great FPS multiplayer action in mobile form, you won’t go wrong. Modern Combat is still the world's best multiplayer shooter series for mobiles.

Even with the control issues, DRM nonsense, and lack of real innovation, Modern Combat 5 is probably the best example of the genre on mobile. The fun may be loud and dumb, but fans will doubtless fall victim to its explosive charms.

Blackout is as linear as first-person shooters get, and the control method is poor to say the least, but as a casual title it provides surprisingly epic shooting action.

Modern Combat 5: Blackout is a good first person shooter for iOS and Android devices with a great graphic engine and lots of contents. The only bad news is that you have to be connected online even to play the single player missions.

Touchscreen issues and a lack of controller support aside, Modern Combat 5 delivers on what it set out to do.

Modern Combat 5: Blackout is at its best when it’s not trying to replicate the FPS experience from consoles and PC. The touch screen doesn’t give you the type of responsiveness you need for a game like this. The only reason it works for the linear campaign and quick-fire Spec Ops challenges is because of player-friendly options that make up for all the sluggishness.
