    MMA by EA Sports manages to capture mixed martial arts in a way that feels great for iDevices, but its limited repertoire could hurt its long-term appeal.

    The lack of Multiplayer is disappointing, particularly in this day and age when Game Centre can take care of any match-making issues. This, coupled with the controls not quite living up to their potential, let the game down but MMA fans should still get a lot of enjoyment out of it.

    The controls are the both the coolest feature and what ultimately brings MMA down. Great ideas, iffy execution.

    This should have been EA's chance to plant a firm foothold in the landscape of portable mixed martial arts games, but sadly MMA feels like more of a misstep. While passable, this far under-delivers on the promise that a typical EA Sports title normally brings to the table.

    While MMA should be applauded for an innovative control scheme, it's ultimately cumbersome. This issue and the lack of multiplayer make it an underwhelming game.

    EA Sports MMA is about as good as I can see an MMA game being on the iPhone, but that does not necessarily make it a great game by any means.

    EA MMA is the best MMA simulation on the App Store, but that's not saying much given the dearth of competition.
