Despite its solid production values, Lost Echo is a bit of a lost cause. Playing it felt like going on a date with a reasonably attractive girl with a characterless personality and mundane attire. Conversation with her held potential, but there were too many awkward stumbles throughout the date. All in all, it was not a bad way to spend a weekend, but I certainly won't be calling her back for a second date.

Even though it struggles sometimes to keep the story flowing, it's a great option for those looking for graphic adventures and, above all, a promising first title for its developer, KickBack.

This is true of Lost Echo as a whole: while its plot stumbles in the final act and its characters never fully get off the ground, the surrounding build-up and adventure is worth experiencing.

Simple controls and amazing areas to explore make the game a pleasure to play, I just wish there was more of it to enjoy.

A handsome adventure game with an enticing air of mystery let down by poor pacing and weak dialogue.

Lost Echo is an adequate point-and-click adventure with a few good puzzles, but it's let down by poor writing, a bland world, and a raft of uninspiring head-scratchers

Then the excessive dialogue, slow-motion scenes and overly vague motivation/logic/outcomes made it frustrating. I was relieved but unsatisfied when it ended. Tries to be clever; isn't. Tries to be emotional; isn't. Characters not particularly likable. I need more than an "I won't get into the science now, but it exists, trust me" to believe something. It had potential...
