Knocks away the often daunting atmosphere of RPG titles and appeals to the masses with humour, quirkiness and charm.

Knights of Pen and Paper 2 is more of the same. And it's still full of heart, wit, and grind.

If you’ve somehow never played the first game and are in the wheelhouse for the inside jokes that Knights of Pen and Paper II relies on so heavily, you’re likely going to find it a creative and clever revelation.

The amusing dialogue is backed by fun class designs and sturdy turn-based mechanics that make for gameplay that's solid, even if it never quite reaches its full potential.

The refinement of the combat has gone a long way to mitigate the tedium of the first game, but the humor and plot won't do much to keep you engaged.

Knights Of Pen & Paper 2 is close enough to the first game that you won't have a bad time playing through it, but as a sequel, it's pretty disappointing

There’s more depth to the game with more nuanced battles and more player creation options, and a very self aware plot and sense of humour. Though the fighting can start to feel repetitive, it’s a great fit for bite sized gaming on the go.

There's little here to risk the paper cuts for. [Aug 2015, p.79]

It’s basically grinding for 8+ hours with nothing to really show for it and, unlike its forebear, doesn’t even have the humor to hold your interest all the way through

If you don't want to pay money, you'll either be grinding for a long time to get diamonds or just playing the main storyline. However, the main storyline is good enough that, even if you play completely free, the game is still amazing. The humor and heart feel like you're sitting down to play a good old D&D campaign with your friends and the storyline is meta enough to be fun but not enough to overdo it. Full Review »

Decent game, if a bit grindy. The graphics and game play are better than the original, at least. The plot isn't a masterpiece, either. IDecent game, if a bit grindy.
