Jade Empire might not be Bioware's best RPG, but I'm fairly sure it's the developer's most under-appreciated. While the combat can be a little clunky at times and the story hews a little too closely to Bioware's typical oeuvre, its unusual setting, strong character work, and excellent pace help it stand out from its stablemates.

More than just a piece of RPG history, Jade Empire deserves to be experienced for its worldbuilding and memorable characters despite some shortcomings in core gameplay.

Jade Empire remains a crown jewel in Bioware's line up but this conversion isn't always a fair reflection of the game's true quality.

It’s still bright, it’s still full of interesting ideas, and it’s still one of the most intriguing IP that Bioware has created. This might not be the best way to play it, and you will find yourself frustrated from time to time, but it has one very big thing going for it: convenience. Being portable makes this one of the easiest ways to play Jade Empire. Stick it on your phone or tablet, take it with you on a long trip, and despite the port’s failings, you’ll still find one of the best RPG experiences on mobile. And that’s high praise indeed.

If you check with Bioware fans they'll all say this is their black sheep, Nope if you ask me. That "honour" goes to Mass Effect Andromeda. If you check with Bioware fans they'll all say this is their black sheep, Nope if you ask me. That "honour" goes to Mass Effect Andromeda.

Now I have a weakness for RPG and Martial arts and this have both and it's well done with a mixture of magic, weapon fighting and fist fighting and they all serve a different purpose as they have different weakness and strength against enemies.

What is lacking are your followers, they're bad.

But what isn't lacking is it's deep and complex story and well done quests. Played out in "Fantasy China" for a lack of words story is your village is destroyed and you're out looking for you master that was kidnapped by the emperors assassins.

Well made, not the best of Bioware but still a 9 on my scale.
