Iron Man 3 - The Official Game

A passable casual time killer that’s easy to pick up and play. But despite its good looks and good ideas, the experience won’t satisfy superhero fans looking for a challenging or especially rewarding adventure.

If you’re a fan of endless runners and can put up with the game constantly asking you to post to Facebook or purchase more ISO-8, then you find this a fun diversion while you wait in line to see Iron Man 3 in theaters.

Iron Man 3 The Official Game is a decent endless run game, but a disappointing tie-in for a franchise that deserved something more.

Gameloft’s Iron Man 3 is not too bad, but it’s not the kind of game you will remember for ages. Considering such a powerful Hollywood franchise, creating an endless runner instead of a sandbox could be seen like a big waste. Especially when you find out that there are many endless runners better than this.

For fans of Tony Stark and his universe, Iron Man 3 is definitely a fun adventure. For those who care nothing whatsoever for comics or the Iron Man universe, it’s still fun as an endless runner. It doesn't feel as finished as other Gameloft games, but time may change that. But be prepared to either spend lots of your time, or your money, to get the most out of Iron Man 3.

The game is flashy and can be pretty addicting while pushing you to your limits. It’s by no means a perfect game, but it’s not bad either.

But if you’re after some proper Iron Man thrills and spills, you’d be better off watching the film. It’s a much better representation of the character, and that’s official.

Iron Man 3 is a decent enough infinite runner, though slow progression holds it back. Comic fans will still get plenty of fun out of it though, with boss battles against classic villains like the Crimson Dynamo and even M.O.D.O.K. in daily challenges to keep players coming back.

Iron Man 3 is a Temple Run clone that has some nice visuals and unlockables, but is held down by its freemium mechanics and loose controls.

The overall lack of accessibility knocks Iron Man 3 down several pegs, but considering the unimpressive history of superhero video games, this one still manages to shine, with its intense flying, daily challenges and fan service. Money improves this title considerably, but you don't need to spend it to have a decent time.

Gameloft has another crack at turning the Iron Man franchise into a fantastic game. This time round, it's an Endless Runner/Flyer.

This isn’t a “decent” endless game. Even the less than impressive ones understand the importance of being able to start a new game quickly. And making players have to wait and/or pay to repair their suits so they can get back to it faster only makes it that much more insulting.

Iron Man 3 is a fun and addictive game bogged down by the mechanics of its genre and business model.

Dull and clumsy, Iron Man 3 feels more like a simulation of a slightly drunk jog than a superhero game.

Iron Man 3 – The Official Game (Free, Universal) delivers a great feel for playing as Iron Man, but that wears off after a few redundant flights. The base gameplay just doesn’t do enough to make you care to keep going to reach the minimal story elements, and new environments.
