However, the core game play loop is locked behind a star system that DOES NOT put the player first. in order to complete tasks you must have stars and to get stars you must complete puzzles. The puzzles are designed to not give you enough turns to complete them forcing you to either wait 25 minutes -ish, or pushes you to the store where you can buy coins. at approximately $1.00 a turn to attempt a puzzle. BUT WAIT, There's more. having enough attempts is NOT enough to complete the puzzles, they require "Boosters" (bombs, rockets and the like) The levels themselves can NOT be finished, (without GOD-like RNG) and the "boosters" well you guessed it! Will cost you REAL money to acquire. A single pack of these little "Booster" items costs approximately $2.00 so now you are up to $3.00 a play, with a single task in game; e.g. Sweeping the floor, requires a single star and RNG dependent your looking at least $9.00 $12.00 per task if you aren't willing to wait for your attempts to refill. In short, a SHAMELESS money sink that is more a slot machine for the OCD afflicted than an actual "Game". Avoid until the Game/Micro-transactions become more player friendly. Expand

This game is total butt. The ads suck, the gameplay is a clone of candy crush, and it's not a great mobile game.

If you’ve conquered Gardenscapes and are looking for a new version of roughly the same experience, Homescapes is a must-play. But newcomers to the series should stick to Gardenscapes for now, at least until Homescapes catches up to all the updates and enhancements of the original.
