Heroes is more of a troop management game than anything else, you'll pick your best troops, fight a set of enemies taking into account their strengths/colour/speed/weaknesses and gain money and experience to level up your troops, increase your stamina and energy bars and gain money to buy additional troops. A good time killer for fans of Dragon Age.… Expand

   An interesting experiment that is made more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been thanks to it's ties to the Dragon Age series.An interesting experiment that is made more enjoyable than it otherwise would have been thanks to it's ties to the Dragon Age series. Collecting new heroes and trying to maxing out their stats can be quite entertaining. Especially when you get you hands on a rarer one that makes it easier to get past that last battle that was giving you trouble. However the evils of EA's attempts to get you to spend money on microtransactions are present.
   
   Every now and then you'll just sort of hit a brick wall of difficulty that you can't get past for a while. This either requires you to grind for in-game currency to buy new heroes, or take the easier route and pay to win. It doesn't require you to put down any money, but if you don't the resulting grinding can make progress slower than it otherwise would be. There's no guarantee you'll always get a more powerful hero from the random packs you'll buy either, but at the very least you can sacrifice weaker heroes you might get to your more powerful ones to make them stronger. It sometimes just comes down to luck whether or not you'll have victory over the main quest.
   
   Luckily there are some other things to keep you busy. PVP battles and "Nexus" challenges can lead to leveling up, more gold and other rewards. Obviously those who are willing to put down money in order to get the best heroes sooner are going to have the edge in the PVP battles, but I still found plenty of opponents who were like myself and focused on grinding instead of buying.
   
   EA's constant attempts to get as much money from gamers as they can plagues yet another game. However it doesn't ruin it. True not putting down money on the game leads to repeated, soul-crushing defeats every now and then, but it's rewarding as all heck to get a more powerful hero or to finally level and boost up my characters enough to make it past a tough level. Despite my frustrations with it I always find myself coming back, because victory truly feels well earned and rewarding in this game. Even if it is just because EA tries to dollar and dime me to death.… Expand

   In Heroes of Dragon Age, you watch your heroes fight stuff. Your only input into to actual fights is if you want to use a rune or not. UnitIn Heroes of Dragon Age, you watch your heroes fight stuff. Your only input into to actual fights is if you want to use a rune or not. Unit level seems to play only a minor role in their power, and is totally overshadowed by rarity... The higher the rarity, the more powerful... but also the harder to acquire. This means you will always lose to people who were lucky(or rich enough) to get one of the legendary heroes. It quickly becomes obvious that even your team of mid-rarity heroes can't beat the mid-tier content, so you will grind endlessly for gems(or crack, and waste money on a lotto ticket) in the hopes of getting a legendary so you can actually play the game.
   
   While there is a certain novelty to collecting your favorite heroes from the Dragon Age, you will quickly realize what a soulless, blatant time/money sink this "game" is.… Expand

From the looks of the models, scenes and graphics, quite a lot of effort went into this game, and it's amazing just how bad the actual gameplay is.
   
   For the first 15 minutes or so, I have no control over the game. Whereever I tap, it just advances the tutorial. Looking at battles, this does not seem like there's any input required from me whatsoever, the creatures just fight each other. No tactics, and I cant even explore what the game has to offer before the tutorial lets go of my hand.
   
   Once in the game, looking around it quickly becomes apparent that this is just another "wait to play" kind of game, as the amount of energy you have dictates how many battles you can participate in before you have to put the device down.
   
   It's a shame to have BioWare and Dragon Age in the title of this game.… Expand

   Terrible excuse for a game. It makes the single-player quest impossible to complete without spending massive amounts of real money. Fights areTerrible excuse for a game. Fights are repetitive and strategy counts for nothing, compared to the amount of money spent upgrading characters. It quickly reaches a point where spending hundreds of dollars is the only way to progress. Freemium games are fine, but in this case, the game is crippled from the start in order to gouge people.… Expand

   THIS IS P2P and P2W. A money hole! There are 10 areas. Each area consists of 5Warning! Heroes of Dragon Age is a SCAM!

   There are 10 areas. Each area consists of 5 "missions".In order to buy rare packs you have to collect crystals by mastering each mission. You can master each mission by completing it(defeating all oponnents) from 3(first mission) to 12 times (last 5th mission). By area 4 you are stopeed on mission 1 by a group of 4 rares!
   By that time i only had 2 rares! And i didn't have any a mage who could attack all enemies and stun them! I opened 30 something soldier packs and found only 1 rare(exluding the one you always get during tutorial!)!!
   Absurd!!
   This clearly means that you can not continue the F2P game beyond are 3!
   F2P players can only have one fight every 20 minutes!! More so the surplus of energy/stamina before leveling up does not add to you energy/stamina bar after you get another level. You lose it all!
   WTF!?
   You need strong(rare/epic/legendary) "figurines" in order to advance both in PVE and PVP. And you can only get them by spending REAL money.
   26$ to buy 10 packs that have guaranted rare! Back in my country 26 $ is 1/15 of the minimal monthly wage!
   I guess for the swiss who made this scam, 26$ is candy money!
   After some time it is impossible to master missions thus so not being able to collect more crystals! It get's to hard and you don't have enough energy and stamina for the grind.
   Game over for F2P on are 3.
   
   That's why this not a f2p but p2p + p2w.
