This is definitely not a game for the kiddies, but if you're after a great adult adventure game then look no further than the slovenly UK Detective in 'HECTOR: Badge of Carnage Episode 1'.

Hector: Badge of Carnage Ep1 is definitely one of the best point and click adventures available. The humour is raw, rude and immature – bleeding perfect that is.

The payoff is always worth it, though, with some of the best one-liners and crackpot characters seen in an adventure game since the mighty Day of the Tentacle. Yes, it really is that good, and insanely good value for the three hours of fun it provides.

Hector: Badge of Carnage - Episode 1 is a brilliant, foul-mouthed "point and click" adventure that everyone should try. The game is full of irreverence and "trash" situations, there's a good number of puzzles to solve and the graphics and sound are awesome. Don't miss it.

Hector is one lewd and crude dude. Without the excellent script, though, this would have just been a collection of shock value scenes. However, the genuine humor and smart puzzles hearkens back to the glory days of point-and-click adventure games.

Aimed squarely at people with a taste for the vulgar, sort of a latter-day Leisure Suit Larry without the soft heart and charm that made Larry such an endearing character.

This edgy and often-hilarious adventure game won't appeal to everyone, but it's a great start to a promising series.

With a great setting, storyline and characters, it's a shame Hector: Badge of Carnage Ep1 falls down due to overly complicated, frustrating puzzles.
