May 2, 2011Easy to pick up gameplay; luscious visuals; and a challenge that scales from casual to serious gamer levels makes Gears the perfect time-waster for your iDevice.
-
Apr 29, 2011While not a direct Metroid knockoff, this challenging and physics based App bears a striking resemblance to Nintendo's classic sci-fi adventures. Both gorgeous and incredibly thrilling, it's without question one of the App Store's best.
-
Apr 28, 2011A beautiful, challenging, and epic ball-rolling game. This iPhone genre will never be the same.
-
May 2, 2011It has fantastic production values, amazing graphics, brilliant controls, and a solid set of well designed levels to play through.
-
Apr 28, 2011Featuring terrific level design, beautiful 3D environments, and tight controls, Gears may be a departure for the RPG-minded developers, but it manages to impress nonetheless.
-
Jun 1, 2011Gears is a fun psychedelic puzzle game; it won't become a best seller, but lovers of the genre should buy it without hesitation.
-
May 16, 2011Like the equally awesome Dark Nebula, Gears pitches the challenge perfectly, and gives you that one-more-go feeling without also instilling the need to lie down in a darkened room afterwards. When developers make games this good, it's only right and proper to reward them with cold, hard cash.
-
May 12, 2011Gears is a tough, expansive, and fun ball-rolling game with some excellent level design.
-
May 10, 2011Gears is a fun platformer, and one of those games I know I'll come back to again and again for a quick distraction.
-
Apr 29, 2011A pretty addictive puzzle/platformer title that contains some delightfully fast-paced gameplay and is honestly pretty addictive. The tilt controls leave a bit to be desired, and there are occasional issues with in-game objects getting in the way of the camera, but overall this is a great game.
-
Apr 28, 2011Two working controls methods, excellent graphics and audio along with Game Center integration for leaderboards equal a great quality release. Now if I can only find a Buddhist monk to try the game.

Games Master UKJul 8, 2011Sometimes frustrates, but more-often-than-not lures you back for more. [Aug 2011, p.95]

May 2, 2011On one hand, it's beautiful, and the swipe controls work great. It's a bargain at $0.99 including the fact that it's universal, and the game does have its shining moments. Then there's the other hand, which includes the fact that it doesn't have GameCenter achievements, has terrible tilt controls, and that the time constraint does bother at times.
-
May 5, 2011I don't like to fight my games – this isn't to say that I don't like challenge entirely, but that I like the challenge to come from the content of a game, not the interface.
