    Our stodgy beliefs in the power of real human interaction aside, Playdek's digital take on Fluxx is just about everything fans of the card game could ask for. Here's to hoping that they add some in-app purchases down the road, because my life just won't be complete without Zombie Fluxx on my iPad.

    Fluxx turns traditional card-based board games on its head by refusing to state more than the basic rules - how the game turns out is entirely up to the luck of the draw, and that's half the appeal.

    I'm finding Fluxx to be somewhat of a tricky recommendation. Not because it's bad, but because it doesn't really capture the manic nature of the original game.

    There is a big element of luck to Fluxx, but this is balanced against mastering its unusual playstyle and making the most of every hand. Either that, or I'm getting luckier.

    The core gameplay is enjoyable and there's a lot of room for strategy while still leaving some of the outcome up to chance. However, it's obvious that Fluxx was meant to be played in-person, and a lot of the fun gets lost in the asynchronous multiplayer.
