    Your early moments with Flashout 3D are likely to involve a little frustration as you tease at the controls to find an acceptably smooth response. Persevere though, and you'll ultimately be rewarded with some of the most thrilling racing gameplay that mobiles have to offer.

    While FLASHOUT 3D may not be the second coming of futuristic racers on the platform, it goes a long way towards bridging the gap between big name franchises on the consoles and mobile offerings.

    Flashout 3D is a clone of Wipeout, but it's generally well done. The most important limitation is about the controls. The absence of the "Aribrake" is a very serious issue for the gameplay.

    The iPhone finally gets its own Wipeout, but the puzzling absence of pure racing excitement makes this a tricky one to recommend.

    For the desperate Wipeout fan who needs a futuristic racing fix, Flashout 3D is not unplayable. As a $2 game with more disappointments than features, it is one to wait on.
