The asking price, like most Square Enix titles on mobile platforms, is a little steep for what you get. But overall this is a pretty solid port, and the novelty of playing FF VII on a phone or tablet is enough to make me suggest picking this up.

I’m fond of being able to spend time with this game again, but it’s not going to replace my memories of playing the original, even as they grow hazier with the passage of time.

It's just as fascinating as it was in 1997, but technically it could have been a much better port.

The very same and exceptional PSX JRPG adventure now on iOS devices. The poor control system implementation is a shame, but the game still manages to shine in almost every way.

A far from perfect porting for an iconic and still enjoyable jRPG.

Final Fantasy on iOS adds some elements that could make the game more easy going and enjoyable for those who just want to remember the story or go through it without all the hard work. Square Enix could've performed better in the terms of controls though.

There’s little reason to pick this version over the PC or even the PSN versions, but if you like the idea of reliving the 80+ hour epic on the go it’s not a bad choice.

I just watched the final ending on youtube! 9/10, must have. Expand

No thethere seems to be a lot of hate out there for this port (and the game as well) but I have to say I am really enjoying this on iOS. No the controls aren't perfect but it's the same story for other iOS ports of classics like chrono trigger, secret of mana and other FFs - they're worth the hassle to enjoy the game on the go. I also think people are forgetting how clunky the original game was. Picking out your way as a tiny polygonal blob through pre rendered backgrounds was never easy in the first place.

Oh and frankly the option to max out your stats and turn off random encounters is a godsend for people who really do want to play it casually. Obviously it's not as pure an experience but a lot of people buying this will want to relive the experience without sinking months into it.

I am a big FF fan, but I do not get used to mobile gaming anyway.
Better play on PC or PlayStation :-)

First, it is so beautiful, each shop, each house, each room is hand drawn and unique, which makes the world feel so real, this is a special accomplishment [no assets used]. The city feels real. The grind feels well paced and fun. The art style with the music is complimentary.

After you leave, you instantly feel that tugging in your heart that you should stop; seriously even with a guide and the speed and deathproof boosts that the Nintendo Switch version offers (which I forced myself not to use for 16 hours], even with that it feels like a lifeless hollow grind with no point. This game falls off a cliff taller than the one in Death Note. I do not joke. So many of the reccomendations from people are people who played it back in the day and use the annoying, time wasting, dumb grind as a way to wind down because they don't bother to deep breath or meditate so they can play a real game like Bloodborne or Dragon Quest IV on the DS.

I seriously warn you that overall the game is **** and, if you can get it very cheep on sale, if you truly love jrpgs, I highly encourage you to get it just for the first few hours, because at first it really is actually as good as they say!
