Final Fantasy Tactics is one of the deepest, most engrossing strategy RPGs of all time, but the iPhone is far and away the worst device to experience it on. The sluggish performance and blurry visuals of Square's iOS port make the steep price tag very hard to swallow.

Also, there are visual glitches in some of the battle menus, and until it is updated (last update was 10 months ago) it gets 1 star for being the worst version of Tactics.
Oh and it's not even the same version for iPhone and iPad, so if you have both devices you have to pay two times or play the scaled version on the iPad.

    UPDATED FOR 2019.
The Ipad version is now 64 bit. anti aliasing is now implemented and the one annoying inventory crash seems to have been fixed (playing through again on 2018 Ipad - not one crash in 20+ hours). Now a solid 8 out of ten. Loses a mark or two because the touch screen inventory system makes it slightly harder to use than it should.
NOTE. The iPad and iPhone versions ARE NOT THE SAME (2 different listings on app store, 2 different downloads, different prices). I have no idea if the iPhone version plays well. I don't have it.
